Anthelix's recent activity

  • This issue was brought to Fuji's attention in 2011 when they released the X100. Hopefully the firmware 3.5 for X-T5 will solve the remaining issues and let's hope it won't have introduced new ...
  • Replied in Fuji X70
The RX100 III has an EVF, this doesn't hinder its pocketability. The lens is something else. For me the X100's lens is small enough. But it's true that a smaller lens would help making the camera ...
  • 55-135mm f/2.8-4 compact zoom. Make a poll with the list of lenses we'll give you and send the results directly to Fuji. This is the only way Fuji will ever read it. ;-)
  • Writing in a forum is a bit like praying... I think it would be more efficient to contact directly Fuji : http://www.fujifilm.com/contact/ But if each of us contacts them individually, they will be ...
  • About the optional grip, the current version is a big tripod plate with only a small part of it for the grip itself. If you only need a grip, it makes the camera unnecessarily bulkier and heavier. ...
  • You need different exposures at sensor level for HDR, else you won't cover a wider dynamic range than the sensor itself. An ISOless sensor will only help you by allowing you to shoot at base ISO ...
  • Replied in Fuji fault
"Power is nothing without control". Fuji focuses almost exclusively on performance, but small details like bracketing and many others are overlooked.
  • Raw vs in-camera JPEG imply two very different ways of shooting. Shooting raw means doing everything you can to prepare the post-processing. When you shoot JPEG you should do everything you can to ...
  • Replied in Do you agree?
X-Trans gives higher luminance resolution and lower chrominance resolution, closer to the characteristics of the human visual system. Now if you take the whole X-Trans matrix + state of art ...
  • I think you should try to switch gradually rather than in one go. You've not really switched when you've taken the decision to switch, but years after that, when you realize you've come to use ...
  • Replied in Do you agree?
This leads to the following question : was the XTrans worth the hassle ? For me the answer is no. Fuji didn't need it to make good cameras. Fuji achieved to make good cameras in spite of the XTrans.
  • Maybe the solution would be menu parameter allowing to balance between speed and accuracy. Nikon has something like that with the priority system (focus vs release priority).
  • Replied in Poor FUJI DR
Exactly. Computer screens have a dynamic range of 9 to 10 stops. Prints have a maximum DR of 6-7 stops. Current sensors capture something like 12 or 13 stops. Dynamic range compression is mandatory ...
  • This is exactly what I fear : that Fuji drops the corner viewfinder as they did with the X30. Hence the crusade... If people are happy with SLR looking cameras, good for them. :-) But SLR-shaped ...
  • Replied in getting a hump
Indeed, people have learned that big cameras with a hump are more pro and make better photos. Yet they have quickly understood that smartphones make good enough photos. I think people can be ...
  • I use the right eye in horizontal orientation and the left eye in vertical orientation (which lowers the center of mass by way). Try it. ;-) In addition, a corner viewfinder leaves more room for a ...
  • Centered viewfinder, a deal breaker for me. Look at this portrait of Cartier-Bresson. Do you see the anti-ergonomic position of his head ? This was in 1935. Camera manufacturers didn't make any ...
  • "Resignation is a daily suicide." Balzac (a French writer) What do you gain by trying to convince people to accept things as they are ? We have nothing to lose by asking firmware updates. Maybe ...
  • Please Fuji, don't release firmware updates. We love bugs and quirks, we don't want them to be fixed. We bought Fuji cameras for their quirks. We don't want improved performance and ergonomics. We ...
  • I talked to someone from DXO a few years ago. Basically they don't want to support the XTrans for three reasons. - There are very few XTrans cameras on the market compared to Bayer cameras. Now ...
