Lassoni: I don't understand the need for the device.. it compresses the uncompressed HDMI for streaming? Couldn't the tablet or PC on your backpack do the same?

This device is nice for catwalk productions.

ludwik123: life is full of surprises.
For the past six months we have had rumours of the P8000, a large sensor successor to the P7800. instead we get the P900, a small sensor superzoom. if i was shopping for a bridge camera this would be top of my list.

Panasonic wil :) :) :) :) And don't forget the highspeed rec on FHD and HD.

Nice 4K Video but what about the quality of audio ? Separate audio recording with ext. pro mic's + digital audiorecorder and edit it together or make 4K Movies and remove/don't use the org. audio and use background sound in editing ?

Old Cameras: Canon has been a company not afraid to take chances. When they launched the original A series cameras, they basically rebuilt the company around a much more cost effective body proliferated into multiple models, the AE-1, the A-1, AL-1, AT-1, etc. All the same basic camera, incorporating integrated circuitry and polycarbonate, which was carefully painted or chromed to disguise it. Those were all time best sellers. Then again in 1987 they threw away the FD mount and introduced EF. FD was not fixable for the long term. They have taken chances and made huge changes over time, now we have new sensors - 24 and an incredible 50MP in new models. It's incredible that Canon makes their own sensors, they're in charge of their destiny and if they want to lead the market, they will. I think they also understand that not every DSLR purchaser is a camera enthusiast, and the majority of people buying cameras are taking photos, not video. People take pictures for the same reasons they always have, 99% of their customer base buys a camera as a hobby and doesn't have the time to care about technical specs. Much like a laptop that has a lot more power than anyone will ever exploit. The camera without the LCD might just sell better especially if it's simpler to use. It's a bit like car enthusiasts. To most people it's more important where you're going than how you get there. That's how you know you have a life.

There are people who use unscrashed FD lenses on Canon Full HD video DSLR's/

justmeMN: A year ago, Reuters also reported:

"Canon is also continuing its push to automate much of its production and replace humans with robots."

So labor costs are no longer an issue.

I hope soon a robot will be a Designer at Canon

Thx for reply. I wanne us only the optical zoom. If I record at 1080p at 120fps and playback at normal speed (looks like slowmotion) you will hardly see this "problem" (I think). Don't you think so ?

Rob Klein: I am really curious if the FZ1000 can be effectively used to shoot college and high school sports? Namely, football in poorly lit high school stadiums at night or hockey in less than professional rinks. Anyone used this camera for those purposes or something close that would tell me if this is a wise choice? I freelance for a major city newspaper shooting high school and college sports and need the reach of the zoom on this, as there is nothing comparable in the Fuji X-T1 lens line at present.

Hello jazzphotog1, do you have any video example's ?

The moving of the lens from wide to tele and back is continues without little stops.
