What are education customers supposed to do?

For those of us in education this looks rough. Not sure how we are going to pay a per computer monthly fee to get this in front of students. Unless they discount is substantially for schools they...

I don't understand how that happened? I thought the 12mp sensor was out of date and incapable of good images? :) Very nice photo. Lovely creamy tones. Really enjoyed looking at it. Thanks for...

Well, I'm extremely grateful for this forum. Here I was judging my ep3 on the basis of the great images I get from it. I had no idea that the fact that a 16 megapixel sensor came out it makes all...

I don't remember as I didn't shoot video with my x10 when I had it but I seem to remember that you could set up shooting parameters in the menu before shooting? You may look at the Sony rx100 if...

It's just a camera. No need for a flame war. If you like the Panny colors better then that's awesome too.

It depends on what you do with the footage. If you are using it commercially (to sell a product) you might need a release from each student that appears in the image unless it's large group type...

Lighting and a tripod that will allow you to position the camera properly will be the most important. If you can keep the camera steady with a tripod and you light the scene well then almost any...

The Oly 45 is a great portrait lens. If this can come close optically then it'll be a big seller. If this has a decent bokeh then it should give that creamy background blur that people crave.
-
You might also look at the fuji x10/20. I had an x10 for a while and now shoot an EP3. The x10 was fabulous. Would give you slightly better high iso than the Oly you are thinking about. Video...

They will sell tons of these. Nothing else like it close to this price range. Hoping it goes down just a bit in price when it actually hits the street. If it's as good optically as the other two...

The only real answers to your questions are Maybe and it depends. The questions you ask are very situational and the answers will change with changes to subject, print size, photographer, lens,...

Sounds like it. You can take the lens off and look inside to see if the mirror is in place or not.

Flash produces MUCH stronger light. Flash also allows you to balance ambient/flash light via camera settings. Of course you can't use the flash for video though.

The Ep-5 photos are being leaked today. New model is probably announced in the next few weeks. This should drive down the price of the ep3 even further. I love mine to death. It's a great camera....

Aperture works great. It is a RAM hog though. If you don't have enough in your machine you may have issues. With enough ram it's stable. It uses the same database as iPhoto so it's very easy...

The Panny GH3 has the same image quality as the OMD and is considered a better video machine. The drawback is that it's quite a bit larger. If you don't mind the size I'd think as a photo/video...

You can easily search ebay to see what they are going for. As soon as the ep5 is announced the prices will tank for sure so you'd better sell now if you want any money at all. I doubt you could get...

I have the epm1 and the ep3 and can't tell you how much I prefer the ep3. The extra dials are a huge thing for me. The LCD screen is much better as well. I actually like the extra weight and size...

I"m not sure how this guy can compete with the current Oly offerings? If it's not priced significantly cheaper I don't see why anyone would buy this instead of the Oly? Counting on people to be too...
