About me:

I'm taking pictures since over 45 years. Learned the handcraft by a landscape and architecture photographer. Rolleiflex, Mamiya RB 67, Nikonos IV, Sigma. Now I've come to Sony A900 and Zeiss. Almost with tripod.

  • For a long time I was using Silver Efex Pro (from google), to, because of its stunning results. But then I noticed, that with SEP on Macintosh you are installing all "daemons" and spys from ...
  • I use to "develop" the ±0 picture "with all bells and whistles" in SPP (and export it as 16 bit tiff, normal size). Then I store the setup of that development in in SPP. Then I open all other pics ...
  • For sure I agree to your point of view, Kendall! And for sure I use to have printed my fine art pictures with maximum resolution and uprezzed with PSD to 1 x 1 meter@300 dpi... But at the very end ...
  • My knowledge of English language is in that moment not good enough to understand your thoughts even in their subtleties. Sorry about that. I think I can speak of myself as experienced with photo ...
  • I do own the 18–35, 1:1,8. Sorry. Besides it's great sharpness and besides of the fact that I use to have focussing difficulties since I use Sigma DSLRs, I'm very content with that lens. *If* you ...
  • As already stated thousand times, delete (better put aside) all preferences of SPP 6 in the user preference and user application support folder. And give it a next try. As for me, it works on my ...
  • What I do not understand, why you entitle the hard working people "tossers". If my dictionary is right (!) it's synonyme with "idiots" or "wa*nkers". May be, my dictionary is wrong! My wife and I, ...
  • Created discussion thread Split screen for SD1M ?
Are there (still) any focusing screens for the SD1M on (European/U.S) market, which can be ordered? I would like to have a split screen and a grid in the view finder. Until now, there seems only a ...
  • Thanks to you both for the encouraging words ... :-) It's as always: The 2-front lensed Rolleiflex from my grandfather from 1936 I put out of the cabinet - and can use it. But today only after a ...
  • In my (rather large) company I'm accepted for "hammering at the bell" from time to time. I think this should also be done in direction of Sigma. I've never experienced such an ignorant company like ...
  • Now I would be very happy starting a thread with ≥ 149 entries: Oh, at my CPU SPP 6.3 is 1,5 seconds faster than on my DOS 3.11 As for years it is my constant opinion and exigent wish: SIGMA put ...
  • Created discussion thread OT: Batteries for DSLR A900
I have invested several tsds. € in my good old beloved working horse DSLR A900, including flashlight, wireless TTL and amongst a Zeiss 24-70. My greatest fear is, that I may loose all that stuff ...
  • I've downloaded the Mac version, I have a *new* Mac Pro (the "beer can") quadcore with 12 GB RAM and 512 Gig SSD. Installed it! Just right out of the box it CRASHED. Didn't show any UI, but at once ...
  • I do not think, that it is noise in its original sense. The fact of the structure, which can be seen, let me think of remainders of the endless polishing of the silicon wafers during mechanical ...
  • Hello Roland and FDecker, the b&w picture *without* structures comes directly out of SPP. The b/w conversion *in* SPP. Because I did want to have more options in b&w, I bought the b&w plugin for ...
  • Thanks, too, for your answer and thoughts! As I said already above: give me your eMail address and I will send you the original exported SPP file, color, 16bit, 88 MB at the beginning of next week. ...
  • Hello guys, as I posted in "Further infos and material" above! Only the size of 88 MB prevents me from posting the tiff here ! There is *all* normal. I know, what I'm doing. It's NO noise, NO ...
  • Many thanks to everyone, who contributed to that thread! Sorry, I thought - after 15 years Sigma - that it is naturally starting the workflow with a 16bit Tif file out of SPP! My workflow is: SD1M ...
  • Hello Rudi, for what is your answer useful? I think for nothing except arrogance. On the other side, I think I must be the full idiot in photographing and using professional software, although I ...
  • The last days I made a picture of my village with my SD1M and decided to turn it into black & white with my new bought b&w converter. As I played a little with the blue sensitivity slider in the ...
