Forgot to mention:
The truly amazing PP you can easily perform is graduated adjustments to balace lighting, color, etc.
I use it almost everyday to balance my flash throughout the depth of an image. Remarkable.

No fee, for sure!
PhotoPerfect is remarkable in that you get dialog boxes with a slide curtain to view your adjustments on your full sized image.
This covers lighting, color, contrast, sharpening, etc.
Perspective, Cropping, etc. etc. there are too many facets of PP for me to cover here.
Also there are third pary Algorithims that you can get as plug-in which automatically adjust your images, then if you wish you can fine tune them.
File handling by the software is the most straightforward process with fast resizing, saving, saving as, etc.
Get the full version trial. Avoid the freeware version.
I am not urging anyone to spend money but I am suggesting that the trial will amaze you.
Nikonworks: You did not include PhotoPefect, one of the best programs available.
Stay away from the freeware version, get the full trial and try it. Fantastic, once I run everything through DXO.

Reminds me of the last US presidential election, one candidate 'loaned' his/her own campaign $8 million instead of spending his/her own $8 milion outright to try to win the election.
He/She lost the election because of this one issue in my opinion, he/she was not willing to back up his/her own candidacy with his/her own money.
Sounds that this new product's designer has no faith to put up his own money.
Without Youtube I wonder if they would have even made the promo video.

Look up the phrases 'self-reliant' and 'government handout'. Try to discern which relates more closely to 'blind faith'

deltaskyking: I was walking down the street the other day and I saw something interesting and I decided to take a photo of it. After turning on my Sony NEX-7 I got the following message on the screen: "Access to this Camera has been denied, please contact Subscription Services!" What the ....! Worse yet is that I was unable to download from the camera any images I'd already taken.
After rushing home I contacted Subscription Services, or "SS", whereupon they informed me that the $1200 camera that I bought a year ago now will not function without a monthly subscription fee! First Adobe and now Sony?! I hastened to my closet where my Canon and Nikon gear were vaporizing, apparently because I had failed to pay a continuing fee to those companies as well!
I woke up in a start! It was only a dream - or was it? Borrowing a theme from Apples' 1984 commercial, we need the hammer wielding athlete to come crashing in and hurl her hammer at the "Orwellian" face of Adobe! NO SOFTWARE FOR RENT! EVER!
It is people like you who help keep life 'livable' at just the right time.

Paul Gath: I've happily bought Photoshop and Lightroom and upgraded through the years. My most recent upgrade was to CS5. I then joined the CC subscription for a year on their half price special offer, mainly so I could learn the different products, but to be honest my good intentions didn't materialise and I have barely looked at anything other than PS and Lightroom.
Once my subscription runs out I will buy the upgrade to CS6 and then stop. It will be some time yet for other products to meet the niche with such high functionality, but CS6 will see me well for many years to come.
Now compare the Adobe route with that taken recently by Google when the bought the Nik plugin suite. I never thought I would say this about Google, but they have done their customers proud in this particular product, cutting the price and bringing it to many more users. Now if they could only get round to paying some tax in the countries they operate in....
You are forgetting in the future ACR will not be upgradable to your CS6, just as Adobe has done in the past.
P.S. When any company pays a tax, it is you the consumer that is actually paying the tax. It is time to wake up!
DXO & PhotoPerfect is all I need.
I have been ahead of the curve regarding Adobe.
When my editions of PS could not update to a new ACR I said enough is enough and I decided that I will not buy PS or any update at anytime.
I now use DXO, PhotoPerfect, and others and use PS for Text.
They aren't getting my money any more.
It is now 2013, in case you did not notice.

Nikonworks: Live View image recording time is outrageous, and for this one issue, how in the word does this camera, which I use everyday, merit a Gold Award?
What is really 'Telling' about the reviews and the reviewers here lately is which posts they decide to comment on and which they stay away from.
So far, no one can dispute my comment about Live View recording times.
They can't agree with me because they gave their Gold Award to the camera.
This just goes to show the capabilities of the reviewers more than the cameras, in my humble opinion.
