The fact that the servers were hackable is still Adobe's fault. Hacking is not magic. Getting hacked means you left a door open. Imagine your bank telling you that, oh, they left the safe unlocked,...

I felt the same way when the E-M5 came around. They're always terribly overpriced at launch, Olympus more than any other camera maker imo. I can only imagine it's the brand name that does it.
On an...

For me, yes and no. When the D-FA 100mm WR came around, it was optically improved as well as having the WR (but also a thinner focus ring - whatever that was about...) Whether the IQ improvement...

Yeah, what's happening with the Limiteds? I guess they're the "little DA* glass"? I wonder if having a lot of travel in the MF ring makes WR harder to implement (I presume they have this... geared...

Right now, that should be the only answer that's required. For years we wondered. Now we know it's real. Someone out there is storing EVERYTHING. We grant that kids can't make sensible decisions on...

Just seeing if there's someone out there who remembers...

I believe it was just a few days ago that I saw someone posting an excerpt or synopsis of a recent test of IBIS vs OIS, which claimed to show that OIS is not in fact superior. It included a...

We seem to be getting confused here. The $480 was not being invoiced for the filter ring repair, certainly not the filter ring repair alone.
More confusion. The reason it was sent in was so the AF...

That's what it looks like to me.

If they redesign it completely, people will complain their accessories no longer work. Are Pentax users the biggest cry-babies or what?

I think you are - from the blog post linked in the OP:
Anyway, once a red filter is applied, X-Trans files show a terrible white outline around every object lying over the blue sky.

I'm surprised at the level of bad faith here. The OP says she's not aware of any impact, nor of the impact damage prior to sending in. Wouldn't you grant that she might be telling the truth?
-
It's a matter of concern that the OP states she was not aware of this damage being on the lens when she sent it in.
To me, it seems Nikon is grasping at straws to not have to cover the repair....

Anything that works well on a Q should hold up to 24MP. :)

I agree that the problem may be with the RAW converter. However, the OP complained about X-Trans, not the RAW converter. If he were to inspect his OOC JPEGs, he might realise where the problem...

That should have been the first thing to check.

Not quite sure where to start there... Three systems, four lenses, let's take a look:
m4/3 60mm EFL 120mm
m4/3 75mm EFL 150mm
DX (APS-C) 85mm EFL 127,5mm
APS-C 77mm EFL 117,5mm
So straight off the...

And bananas, as we keep being reminded by the nuclear lobby... ^^

I can understand where you're coming from, and there are forces in the market that are speculating for such a revival. However, I'd have to say that it's going to be difficult for a pure film...
