True; I would think though that were the profits enormous, Pentax would already have a FF DSLR camera. Obviously the margin is narrow enough that it has to think twice about it, i.e. they see the...

Based on the most recent sales statistics I've seen, Canon/Nikon outsells Pentax 10:1. APS-C in those brands outsells FF 10:1. Hence, Pentax FF sales aren't going to be very high in relation.

Half that price would be more like it. This lens isn't so outstanding (according to the few test we've seen), with a rather simple design, as to warrant top dollars. It's design suggests a much...

IQ is not a consideration in choosing between either lenses. In term of FL, these are like Apple and Orange. 70mm = 105 equivalent, 100mm = 150 equivalent, wich is not a as useful a FL IMO. ...

I see you recovered some of the highlights from your last post (Green Green with Pentax K05), looks better that way.

That's as good a prediction as that one !

The problem isn't the island, it's the blown up sky. This is a situation where a Neutral Graduated Filter was necessary to balance the Sky with the Ground. Would your exposure be better balanced,...

It begs the question, where you Ghostbusting ? :-) Nicely done, very impressive sky.

Nicely done, especially at the 1050mm equivalent, very impressive.

Nice capture, I would try making it bland and white, and cropping the right side off a bit to move the subject away from dead center.

Lovely subjects with a very natural pose, well done. I'd probably give it a little more breathing space if you've cropped it in PP, it's a little tight. The skin tones are perhaps a bit too warm,...

Very interesting gadget. I'm thinking though, is that a good idea to point a laser at a bird's eye, which is where you'd want to focus ? What is the laser rating ? Does the instruction manual...

The higher the contrast of the subject, the stronger the lock. With low contrast subjects, the lock can indeed easily be lost, but often the focus area moves nonetheless onto something else in the...

Yes I have, tx. I don't have an issue with AF speed, it's quite pirky actually. I have an issue with Contrast Detect AF , which never seems to select the focus area I would have expected it to...

Not necessarily so. It will be a choice between top of the line APS-C or bottom of the line FF. There seems to be a believe that a FF is worth compromising on everything else. I don't think so.

If you actually hold your camera properly, which is resting on the palm of your left hand, with the right hand on the shutter, you can disengage the lens with your left hand, and remove the lens...

And what is stopping you from purchasing a D800E right now ? Just curious...

The aperture also opens up quickly, which adds to the shutter and dust shake noises.
