Replied in 16mm review delayed
Frankly, if so this is just terrible ...
This would imply that it is basically unusable for landscapes. Stopping down to f/11 "solves" most of the issue but you're already way into diffraction at...

You can see that the lens doesn't show the mk II here as well.

There are two Samsung codes:
EX-S1855IB = mk II

Replied in 18-55mm review at Photozone
We purchased this lens in a kit with the NX200. It would be a little odd if they bundled the initial version. Anyway, as some pointed out here the mk II has iFn whereas the mk I has an OIS...

Replied in 16mm review delayed
It is off-limits for us to purchase the 85 just for testing purposes. After the test we would need to sell it and the expected loss is not justified by the amount of ad revenue.
Regarding the...

Replied in 16mm review delayed
Well, the plan is to test all lenses.
However, this depends a bit on the community. Usually we either purchase the lenses for testing or use community-supplied lenses. Manufacturer relations just...

Replied in 16mm review delayed
The tested sample was very sharp on the focus plane but this does not help when extreme field curvature renders the border region out of focus.
Frankly I can't really imagine that this is a normal...

Replied in 30mm pancake review out at photozone
At the time we verified the vignetting issue via RAWs but it didn't make a difference. I was very puzzled by this actually. I can only guess admittedly.
As far as I remember - the NX10 has a...

Yep, soft corners @ f/2.4 and f/3.2. Pretty sharp beyond.

Replied in Photozone reviews the non-toy Q-lenses
I think if a fixed lens is fine for you there'll be nothing better at the moment than the Fuji X10. The Q is about flexibility - e.g. the fisheye. There'll certainly be more cuties coming - an...

Replied in Photozone reviews the non-toy Q-lenses
As you may have noticed from the images I took the camera on my last vacation. It was a joy to use it and I did not regret to take it. However, compared the my GH-2 images the results are clearly...

Replied in Photozone reviews the non-toy Q-lenses
Technically this would be interesting, yes. However, we would run into resources problems so I'm afraid that we will have to stick to testing lens systems rather than digicams.

Replied in Photozone reviews the non-toy Q-lenses
Yes, but the X lens has a transport position. The referenced 14-42mm has none which is why I chose it for comparison - the Q lens has no transport position either.
The Panasonic lens isn't quite...

Replied in Update.....
We mentioned numerous times that the results are not cross-comparable between different test systems.
This is actually true for all lens tests based on image sensors (aka DSLRs/EVILs). Cameras...

Replied in 35mm f1.8 review up on Photozone
Well, the G lens is full format, a half stop faster and, of course, much better on the mechanical side.
Slower lenses are much easier to design which does often result in superior image quality....
