I'm not a professional and new to manual digital shooting but I have come to really enjoy my X10. In the 4 weeks I've found no bugs, and I find it actually easy to use once you learn how (bear in mind I'm learning to shoot manual at the same time). I read a lot of reviews of this and similar cameras including dpreview's (Canon G12, S100, G1X, Panasonic DMC-GX1, Olympus XZ-1, Nikon Coolpix P7100). I chose the X10 for it's optics and despite the known issue of sensor blooming which I decided wasn't a show-stopper for my needs. I'm taking a digital camera course and I have as much control over settings as the DSLRs in the class but the camera is not a brick and actually looks very stylish. I think it's a fantastic camera and to top it off Fujifilm sent me a complimentary cable release to show their appreciation for being "one of the first people to purchase and register"!

WillemVO: Remarkable results using Raw and Lightroom. After having tested, and apart from ease of use for some, I don't see much interest in EXR mode and none in Scene modes. Also WB while shooting with flash (internal or external) is not perfect (though easily adjustable in Lightroom). DR adjustment works wonderfully well (I put it under the Fn button). Manual focus not very useable. Optical viewfinder OK, but not remarkable. Miss focus rectangle (I use AF-S centrum focus).

I'm not an expert but I think I might know why the optical viewfinder does not have a focus rectangle, or any kind of cross hair guide. For my X10 at least, the viewfinder is way off-center compared to the actual image taken. In fact the rectangular area covered by the view finder (85%) is in the top left corner of the actual photographed image. If the viewfinder had a center guide it would have to be towards in the bottom right of the viewfinder. Has my camera got a defect or is this a normal feature of these "rangefinder" viewfinders?

GREATSCOT: Spent an excellent day in Kyoto with the X-10.
It is very intuitive to use
great build and feel
on/off by twisting lens is super idea
the images are very sharp and color saturation is fantastic- you can simulate Provia etc.
Performed well in bright sunshine and low light outside and indoors
The battery lasted for > 328 shots using AF-S.
only minor negatives :
The lens hood overlaps the viewfinder and can separate into 2 pieces when detaching it.
Having to remove lens cap to switch on/off review photos

(don't know how to delete a comment, sorry).
