I find cats to be difficult to photograph (maybe it's just my cat). Anyway, nice photo - and congratulations!!

The DPREViEW line item capture date rule has no flexibility. It's on or off, and allows the host to choose one setting--> "capture after announce date".

That DPR rule is not in effect here but all challenges allow additional rules, any kind of rule, and I added one about submissions.

I am going to continue to DQ all entries that are not 2012 photo's because that's what I asked for.
Sorry , I can't remove the DPR line item but that is what is intended. 2012 photo's.

If I do this again, I will make sure the title says 2012 entries only to avoid confusion but I can't suppress the DPR "capture date rule"

Muktuq: Do people read? Why are there entries that are obviously not "square" when the rules call for a "square' entry?

I find 10% of entrants read the title of the challenge and enter something that does not comply with anything else written as instruction or rule.

I didn't realize there was a tie… I had a few favorites in this challenge. This of course is just spectacular. Thanks for entering.. You also were honored by a voter who voted down many photos. Thankfully the good photo's remained at the top.

Congratulations on the win!

Quite interesting and a bit different. It was in the lead all week too, despite one person voting down 32 images , including this one. This reminds me of some of the formations at Yellowstone Park in the USA. Nature and man's influences are both beautiful.

Nice photo, and congratulations on the win!

l_objectif: Is this a rule "as long as we do not see 2 eyes"?...
If this is the case, a few of the entries do not qualify as being profiles the way the host is describing!

this is filling up really fast.. I'll review all and DQ any that are not matching the rule. thanks,

barbara

It' s just so pretty!! I didn't expect to see "pretty" in this challenge and the reason I ended up voting in this challenge is this particular entry. Fabulous… and beautiful.
congratulations on the win!

l_objectif: I recommend everyone to check the last 2 shots. Number 199 and 200!
See howmany .5, 1 and low points this photographer has!
Is this normal?
Is this sandbagging?
Where is the host?....

The host unfortunately can't do anything about it other than show the issue to DPR thru feedback. Someone has a few ID's here and is playing more spite games. Let's hope they tire of it.

seriously? prides leads people to do such crazy things like this!

It looks much more like spite than pride. If you read the challenge forum, you can see this was someone elses petty way of getting back at being pointed out for cheating recently. libertylady was victimized here, nothing more.

senn_b: "I don't think you have the idea of the challenge. I don't see a frame around something. lovely photo, but not quite right for this challenge. I think you'd need to remove the top of the photo to make it more of a framing." (dixit challenge host)

That's a question of perspective, .. and also of ability to see. Anyway, .. you are the host, .. you are the "judge" .
Thanks for leaving me time to replace my photo

PS: I've got also some problems with your definition of "natural" ..

regards

I was reviewing all photos for compliance, and looked back at your photo and removed the premature DQ, agreeing with you. And yes, I should have picked a different word. Natural in the title is more limiting than the full description. I should have broadened the challenge title to match the longer description.

Regards
Barb

dduck: Whoops, I thought natural meant of nature.

yes natural is nature , of course, but I was looking for a frame of some sort, found as you photograph…. Not an added border/frame from some software package.
