for what it's worth, I liked this very much, but I thought it wasn't really a "close up" view in comparison to most - I think that's the only reason it went to the bottom half of the group. just my opinion.
Dangerous Lee: Great reflective shot.
I really love this one. She'll love it when she's older too. What a great shot!
Congratulations, nice entry!!
barb_s: Congratulations on having friends.
FWIW. I wrote a reply explaining on what is meant here - added to your 2nd place photo. Hope it helps your understanding of some comments in the forum and here. We're really just looking to have a cleaner competition than the facebook links allowed.
Flachi89: I answer to one of two pictures to stop these absurd allegations, on which I am very offended. Both proposals were selected photos from various magazines about trains and are the result of much effort and careful choice of location, light, weather, and train (in fact I chose the locomotive that holds the world speed record, one in the WORLD, for those who know), so I seem anything but ordinary, otherwise I would not have proposed.I would appreciate that before commenting so rude shots of other people there were real grounds for complaint.Thank you.
The comments are based on the friend votes for your pictures. No one comes here, enters their first challenge with 2 photo's and gets a 2nd and 3rd place on merit. Your photo's show a group of "5"s as votes. Those are your friends, they are not realistic votes. The rest of the competitors did not add the picture to facebook or ask friends and family to give them a hand to move their photo's to the top. You may not even realize that the facebook link causes this kind of problem with the voting since it's your 1st competition.
It's much more fun to see how you do without skewing the votes knowingly or otherwise. I'm guessing you saw the facebook link, clicked it and ad no idea it would impact voting. I hope you enter more challenges but don't advertise it to anyone until the challenge is over. that's all it's about. Even the managers of this site realize it, and just removed the FB link to help with this issue.
This was a worthy competitor to the 1st place entry. Well done!
Congratulations on having friends.
Jan2009: is hiking on a stiff hill allowed? or does it have to be rock climbing?
that would be fine.
The lighting really made this a standout! 3rd place is pretty good in this challenge. I felt there were quire a few strong entries. I was very pleased with the variety submitted. nice 3rd place finish here!!
Not just great macro, but great composition, I feel like this beetle is leaping through a hole in time. It's wild!! And I love it!,
This is my personal favorite in the group... A group of many really nice photos. But I just love the 2 tone background matching this little fella. It's a very worthy entry. Congratulations on runner up!
Congratulations , one of my favorite photos is a similar flower in water drop. I felt pretty lucky to get one like this. Yours is spectacular!
Well, as host, this is one of m favorite challenges. I love the photo's submitted. MOst are just lovely. It's relaxing to view them all.
Thank you to all who entered.
Voters - I have verified that this is a carbonated beverage, and so it fits the challenge rules.

Wildbegonia: Beautiful, wow. The light, I can see the bubbles moving up. How many tulips did you sacrifice? :) No, seriously, it is perfect and my favorite part, it is shot with a P&S.
Thank you :), I had fun with this last year. Just a couple of tulips were used up with some experiments when I was home on a snow day.
This and a giraffe got my top 2 votes. I just love how alive you made this little guy. I'm not much of a dog person, but I just want to hug this puppy!
Besides the cuteness, congratulations on the win.
very nice, and not easy to find something like this to photograph. The b/w makes it more special -moodwise. Congratulations!
