Buzz Lightyear: Metal sculpture (maybe polished brass?); about 4-5 meters high; installed in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, San Francisco. I took this picture from a overhanging balcony on the 6th floor.

Thanks for the info because I was about to ask the size. This is much larger than I guessed. (And it is one of my favorites in this challenge too)

Ed I have to say, this is the "Host's pick". I love the background. It sets off the subtle coloring on the bird so nicely. And now I know what a White-Throated Sparrow looks like, should I see one. Congratulations on a beautiful entry as runner up.

barb_s: I love the simplicity and beauty of the photo - a well done runner up in the challenge. May I ask - what exactly is this ?

Thank you , I would not have guessed, but that adds perspective.

Wow, that is a big engine and a lot to fill the frame with! There was such variety in the mix, I couldn't guess which would pull into 1st place. There are many that were worthy, including this one. Congratulations for the win!

barrym1966: 15 out of 38, even years after school I still manage to be average :)

Actually, yours was 15 out of 43 when it went thru the votes. A few withdrew afterwards. That's closer to the top 1/3 than top 1/2.

I thought your photo was lively and interesting.

In reply to:

JerryShots: I'm going out on a limb here and guessing you just don't bother with rules in general, right?

I mean - How many flowers is the right amount of flowers in a "Single Flower" contests..?
What causes this kind of thing, if I could ask?

This entry will be adjusted or switched to something more in line with a "single flower" . The entrant has been notified and given an option to find a solution that is more fitting.

Look at those eyes! What a strong entry - and I don't know how you managed to get the shot. I think this one was hard to capture; cat's being cats are not as cooperative as , say dogs. So, Congratulations!!

Navathej K: May I know why the rule of square format is put in place ? any specific reason at all ?

I agree, but that's also what makes a challenge a challenge.
