  • Opening the can of worms was not my intention. I was just after information regarding the OVF on DSLR cameras. FF is very limited for mirrorless whereas DSLR has many FF models. This was just to ...
  • Replied in More what?
So because I'm not going along with your aps-c recommendation, you presume that, either I don't understand what you're telling me or I don't understand what I'm trying to achieve. I see that you're ...
  • I didn't mean to imply that it was insignificant, just that I would like more. According to info I looked up, FF is 36 x 24 which is 864mm squared. APS-C (Nikon, Sony) is around 23.6 x 15.7 = 370mm ...
  • Most animals are active in the sun up and sun down parts of the day so yes I would be mainly shooting in darker conditions. Now factor in being in wooded areas and such that block out more light ...
  • Why is that reading material for me? Personally I'm tired of bird photography as I have plenty of bird photos in my personal collection. Now I prefer getting photos of other animals. Although I ...
  • The ISO performance and detail kept is the main reason. I wouldn't want to jump to aps-c given that I have the fz1000. Not a big enough jump in sensor size in my opinion. But FF is significantly ...
  • Replied in So in conclusion
Thanks for all the input from everyone. It would appear that I'm spoiled by my EVF on the fz1000. Since I mainly photograph wildlife, the EVF seems to be the best way to go as I usually don't have ...
  • How did you get in touch with them? Email or phone number? I tried calling the Canada (gta) number a few times last week to place an order and pick it up but no one answered.
  • Is the blinking of overexposed highlights only done on the back screen or does it show up in the OVF?
  • Replied in histogram
I must admit that I don't often look at the histogram while shooting. I have it set to be on and it is right there in my EVF, but I tend to rely more on the over exposure warnings that I have set. ...
  • I know that with an EVF on a mirrorless camera you get to see changes to your exposure before your photo is taken. So you can make the appropriate adjustments and see what effect it will have on ...
  • Not very important these days.... nice to have though. I too enjoy photographing wildlife and have encountered the same issue where the camera wants to lock focus on something in the way. I just ...
  • I'm absolutely shocked that you're trying to claim that the fz200 produces cleaner images with less noise. Shocked! Perhaps you are making this wildly inaccurate statement based only on jpeg output ...
  • Replied in What????
Since I'm the one who took issue with the point you made, I'll just say that I personally don't care which camera you like better and I am not interested in critiquing your photos. I merely felt ...
  • Replied in a6000
Since your friend already has an a6000, have you looked into getting any of the Sony a mount lenses and just use an adapter to fit it to the a6000? The Sony a mount has a large selection on lenses.
  • Replied in not trolling
This has nothing to do with his photos that posted. He made some statements to the OP who was looking for advice and I pointed out that he was incorrect. Should the OP just receive bad information ...
  • Replied in What????
That changes nothing. The fz1000 can still use the ISO advantage to achieve faster shutter speeds if needed and it has significantly better image stabilization which allows it to achieve sharp ...
  • Replied in What????
I get what you're saying about shutter speeds and sharpness and such but this whole point is fundamentally flawed when comparing the fz200 and the fz1000. Yes the fz200 has a 2.8 lens but it is ...
  • Are those numbers correct? Why does a 1/3 increase in zoom (200mm) equal a 1/2 decrease is mp? Why is it not also 1/3? So at 600mm the image would be approx. 13mp instead of 10mp as you said.
  • Replied in no issue
Your memory card is not the issue. You caused this file naming issue when you adjusted your settings. When the colour space setting is set to srgb then the file naming starts with P When it is set ...
