tim fisher46: The D800 is not a wise choice IMHO - I own one and a touring bike too. It can be knocked out of calibration.

I switched to the Sony Alpha 7R. It's so small and with prime lenses, it fits very easily into my bar-bag, always ready. Add a small off-camera flash and I'm producing a set of less than ordinary, "stock" images, which is what I view here.

Besides, getting to the heart of a culture rarely involves landscape work, it's the details, the interplay of Men, a more documentary approach would bring us closer, more time with the subject matters.

The images I view here could be achieved backpacking & taking side tours, so to me, the whole "cycling around the world" is taking precedent over the photography, such that these are stock / travel pictures, nothing more.

Furthermore, there as many people out there doing long trips, by bike or backpacking, such that the saleable value of these nice pictures is I believe rather limited.

Just my $0.01's worth.

My personal opinion is the above tour and pics are more than my life--since as a general these pics opened my eyes to an unknown world--we should not under estimate ones contribution to the world of photography and information through pics!

shutterbud: I like what I see. The ergonomics and increased build quality are the most important spects of this update to me. Although I bought an A6000 just this month, I plan on upgrading to FF in due course. After this model has been on sale for a year or so it is very likely I will buy one.
Now, Sony, PLEASE BRING OUT SOME MORE LENSES

yes,Sony should--Fuji is doing good and innovating a series of rouged lenses..and one thing must hear by Sony--that servicing--I remember that once a sony compact camera was more damaged by a servicing center--interestingly this servicing center was for TV repairing and Sony gave this address for repairing! Now I fear to buy Sony-;Canon Service mechanism is too not so good in some parts of India,You can not send a canon to Master Service Center--they have some collection points and from their only you can collect your camera after servicing--these servicing/collection points are may be not in your reach--;so there will be a communication problem to get your camera--we have no time to spend time after a camera;better to say Canon should refine them ,direct connection servicing center and Customer is needed-not through a collection point!2 yrs ago I have visited a Master Service Level 4 center New Delhi, there they couldn't find out the address of collection center point of Assam,India!

Hope DPR will take us such amazing journeys -few yrs back I have met Dave en route to Tawang ,Arunachal Pradesh India--who later completed his journey through Bhutan to Nepal in search of Sambhala.

‘The trek back to the car a distance away in severe cold was a challenge,’ says Lukasz, who came down with pneumonia shortly afterwards. Sadly, Piotr later died. '----Photo by Lukasz Bozycki. Finalist, Mammals.--VERY SAD TO HEAR THAT >Piotr died!
Our message to Piotr's family and friends--so dedication for a photograph fighting with bitter cold which took his life!

Photo by Lukasz Bozycki pics is indeed difficult--true hero!Sice they adjusted many things--White Balance, may be they tested the supirior position of their flash and LED lights, angle of lens, right exposure settings etc--in bitter cold to change all these things to do @ almost zero temperature is not so easy--camera,tripods may go too cold to touch!Great!So--above all controversy my hats off!

Medium Format camera--now M.F. camera will take place in full frame camera--minm 50 mega pixel--//otherwise full frame camera @ very low cost--in entry level--technology will be now handy and M.F camera will be costly and amazingly fast like bullet and ISO improvements will replace the need of flash--//so mission by canon impossible is possible--!Medium Format camera was so costly that we can not afford--but canon will show how it is possible @3750/-US $approx with kit. From NOw sports photographers will take MF cameras!

These lights will eat powers--you can not take to jungles--animals will be alert as they will see these lights!&moreover--Ricoh turns a camera from serious to comedy due to the green lights!

Personally I don't support colourful cameras with bright colours since they can fall you in danger in jungles--so black is good for hiding!

lera ion: My next FX will not be Nikon.

In fact, the whole market becomes very competitive and some what unstable;pl remember--once there was big debate--which is best digital or film---now mirror less or DSLR?Then I bought Nikon F80 after long use of Canon EOS88;and lost in wild;since digital age bloomed like a big baloon; Now my question is on mirror less--Now I will wait for next 2 yrs!Let's see--where this river flows!!

Yes,--that F80 is still with me as new--I then used only 2 films!

Me too-Either I will opt Canon Full Frame or Fujifilm mirrorless-Fujifilm has now been growing and many good weather sealed best lenses, light to carry them--but I want from Fuji that they should come out with full frame with large sensor and I want an improved view finder.

On Nikon D750: What you need to know article (109 comments in total)

Yeah---Nikon is making a good camera --may be more than 810!I have seen some pics of higher ISO --@higher ISO the result of 750 glorifies than 810.But I have noticed D750 is not tot totally weather sealed,--but partially--!!!

KenRockwell indicates abt D750--"Top and Bottom Covers: Magnesium alloy.

Partially weather-sealed"---I found some where--that it is made of non-metal since some technical aspects are there with the propagation of the wi-fi through metals!D750 has built in WIFI.

But I could not find the shutter mechanism--is it electronic like Nikon D810?

mayurgogoi: I have gone through many reviews regarding Nikon D810--but the summery may be like this--This camera is the house of technical upgrade, but not in noise!

Am I correct?

I am not a pro-technical man to give certificate to Nikon D810--but my opinion is removal of Anti-Aliasing filter is creating a new problem--moire is seen in cloths etc--and though pics are more clear, but due to Moire Nikon is finding an solution --!

I am also noticing that Nikon D810's pics are little colourless, faded as Compared to 800E/800?My observations may not be correct! But My final words--Nikon D810 is technically best camera of Nikon, but We can not certify that it is 100% stunning--some faults are here!

http://www.pocket/-lint.com/review/129959-nikon-d810-review-says--NOISE is seen@ISO 560 in shadow areas(100% crop)

In fact,--if DPREVIEW is not biased, and since they do scientifically-so we usually follow dpreview.Another method--I ask my friends about a camera before buying--so when a camera comes new--it is our problem--there is no dealer here,no rental--in such situation what could I do?You are stretching the practical touch, but here in my place it is tough to touch a Nikon D810!MAY BE A Nikon 5200/canon 7D--but not high end cameras!--like Canon Mark1v series!Any how--thanks for your comment!

issac sam--truth can not be neglected;no Nikon D800 was bought in my District,it is not France,England,USA,or metro cities--we read reviews--we depend on reviews--there is still to develop photography as industry here--we are trying to develop it among people, even children--so pl do not comment harsh--after spending the all money , taking a loan from bank I wish a best camera--in my place there are no servicing centres,no big shops--;;so who will give a camera in rent?--so We are bound to follow the couch like DPR--otherwise what is the use of DPREVIEW?

mayurgogoi: To collect it is very tough--so many items--good collection -but I need some of items close photos-in first photograph we have seen few white balls near a small container-these should be specific and it could be taken under normal light -green back ground-or macro photography-We can understand the time period through single pics----but more to add--!

More close ups please to depict the time--may be the words--made in England,china,Russia,Germany--then we can understand the country where it was made,we can understand the technology applied then.

I have read that once Made In Germany was famous--German Knives were Razor sharp--but then Japanese good were worst in quality--now that Japan is world leader by means of dedication ,hard work.

http://www.gtai.de/GTAI/Navigation/EN/Invest/Service/Publications/markets-germany,did=738904.html--///Hope about the level--MADE IN GERMANY DPR readers will find some interest--how this"Made In Germany" came?

From above site I came to know-" In 1887, concerned about the influx of cheap foreign products, British Parliament passed the Merchandise Marks Act in order to identify foreign imports and protect domestic products. The label clearly distinguished the country of origin for German products in Britain, but rather than alert consumers to their inferiority, it quickly became a seal of quality: in the 1950s, for -example, the Volkswagen Beetle took the world by storm."
