I would like to have the ability to sync full flash output at 1/1000th with my Nikon DSLR. Maybe one day in the near future we'll have fully electronic focal plane shutters that can sync at this...

I like VR, but I am still not sure when to use VR. I just did an outdoor competition with lots of physical activity. I shot at 1/400 and up to 1/2000. I did not use VR on the 70-200/4G. Some...

I removed the grip and applied one layer of electrical tape across the top of the grip where the alignment pin is. I also put a thumbnail sized piece on the grip in the area that goes under the...

Thanks for the suggestion to set a3: Focus Tracking With Lock-On to OFF!
I don't normally shoot sports, but today I am shooting a team variety competition event that includes runners coming towards...

I have regularly used a D600 since it was released Sept. '12. I photograph events, travel, landscape, portraits and occasional sports. Here are the important custom settings I have settled on,...

I doubt an F2.0 24-70 is in the cards from any manufacturer, ever. Too much extra size/weight/cost for only an extra stop vs. F2.8 versions, and the high ISO capabilities of many cameras make this...

That appears to be fungus growing on the glass. Send it back for a refund!

I just realized that the M-3204x has yet another improvement over the M-3204: All three legs have a protective foam pad. Only two legs had foam pads on the M-3204. Now I don't have to think about...

Today I finally have a current M-3204X tripod. I like the two-piece column design which keeps the short column handy when needed. The longer center column section fits atop the monopod, which is...

Excellent system! I prefer the Op/Tech double sling, though. Securing the straps to both camera lugs gives peace of mind, but is not necessary except perhaps with heavy pro cameras and big...

I am a D600 user, bought Sept. '12. Mine had lots of dust early on. I learned to clean it. No big deal, really. Get an illuminated loupe so it's easier and faster to see the dust. When possible,...

Yeah, why do they do that? Nothing but the facts please!

Wonderful portrait! She's really studying those shells. The Canonet QL17 is a classic!

Awesome! Love the warm toned reflections.

I ordered the M-3204x in May and apparently received an older M-3204, which does not have compatible threads for the center column to attach to the monopod. I am waiting for Argraph to send...

Rich,
Thanks for confirming this! I will contact Argraph, the US distributor, and seek replacement columns with the same thread pitch on bottom as the 3/8-16 bolts used on top. Cheers.

Looks great! In the 16-70/4, Sony/Zeiss have finally come out with a lens to make me consider the NEX system.

I love my Sigma 35/1.4 on a D600. I hope they come out with new 24/1.4, 15/2.8, 16-35/2.8 VR/IS, 24-70/2.8 VR/IS, 300/4 VR/IS, along with updated 50/1.4 and 85/1.4. Also a 17-18mm tilt/shift...

I considered the Gitzo GT2542L when the rebates started earlier this summer but went with a Sirui M-3204x instead. It is significantly less expensive than the model you are considering, and has...
