  • Really nice!  Makes me even happier I chose the G15 over its competitors.
  • Eric, thanks for taking the time to post this great advice.  I'm doing some more practicing this afternoon as it's again beautiful, sunny, and 70 degrees.  Supposedly, it's going to be even warmer...
  • Thanks, deploylinux...I couldn't agree more about the tripod.  I have several, and one is small enough I can easily carry it with me at the Masters for those times when I'll be shooting the same...
  • Thanks to everyone who helped me out with all the great suggestions!  It was a beautiful here today so I took a lot of practice shots with all the suggested settings and I can't believe how much...
  • Eric, I've got everything suggested dialed in and today it was bright and sunny here so I went out and took 50-60 outdoor shots, simulating the ones I'll be taking in Augusta.  The only thing that...
  • Exactly what my wife said, Rick.  She's been the last two years with three of her girlfriends...and she also said that TV doesn't do justice to the hilly terrain.  We're both very avid golfers and...
  • Cameras are allowed on all practice rounds...but definitely not Thu-Sun during the actual tournament.  Cell phones are not allowed at any time.
  • Yeah, I think someone already mentioned this...and I would have tried that for freezing the swing.  I won't be doing that as I will most likely be taking just general pictures...but if the...
  • Thanks, Eric.  This is really weird.  It's working now but I tried to do this earlier today and when cycling through the options for the half-wheel icon, with the cursor under the P, the "Zoom"...
  • No, what actually happened was it had gotten moved from the default of "AWB" to "Tungsten" so I just didn't recognize it.  Might also explain why some of my outdoor pics were a little darker than I...
  • Dale, would it perhaps be wise to bracket a "0" exposure setting and take three shots for every picture (-.3, 0, and +.3)?  I've never used bracketing before, but it sounds like a nice...
  • One other thing I noted is on the G15 you can't assign "Step Zoom" to the front wheel...only to the full wheel on the back of the camera.  On the G12 I believe you could...but they changed this.
  • Eric...when pressing "FUNC.SET" to display the menu for adjusting AWB, there is a problem.  Though clearly depicted on page 134 of the G15 manual, AWB is not a visible setting in the menu.  DR...
  • Thanks to everyone for the great answers.  Lot of commonality in replies...assures me these are the correct settings.
  • Created discussions PowerShot G15 question
Unfortunately, before leaving on a trip I don't have time to experiment with my new G15 but perhaps someone here has an answer to my question. I'm going to the Masters Golf Tournament on Monday,...
  • Thanks for the explanations.  Though I had already done the comparisons you suggested (which is what provoked my post to begin with) what I was NOT considering was that the DMC-FZ200 is not quite...
  • Created discussions Canon G15 vs. Lumix DMC-FZ200
I just finished comparing every aspect of my Canon G15 with the Lumix DMC-FZ200, using the IQs, NR specs, etc....all comparisons made right here on DPReview and I have a question.  How on earth can...
  • Replied in Wrist straps
...exactly my thoughts!  I hadn't thought of wrist straps from other things...thanks!
  • Thanks, MisterPootieCat.
  • You're correct about the differences, PC.  Seems only the newer one is available now but that's just fine.  I've ordered it.
