Both entries are without EXIF data, just a date on the image? Are they following the rules?

Rajamurthy: There is more anxiety and fear in the eyes than the claim of the title.

Anxiety and fear in her eyes?

You are right I felt the same: she is a Tamil woman from a slum near Siddaiah Road in Bangalore. She is poor; her hut must be 3 by 3 meter.
My motorbike mechanic is close by and the slum is like an island in between all the Muslim houses...

Then why "The veiled smile": because all her friends were around her making her laugh and she laughed the whole time behind the veil and I can still see it...

Werli Francois: I don't have much confidence/experience with men portrait in this age. But!
when I saw the challenge I remembered the North Indian Muslim tea maker/seller married with a Muslim lady from Andhra.
He has incredible light green eyes...
In India people usually do not care about the eyes colors.
It took me 2-3 days and a tea every time until I could ask him if I can take a portrait. My idea was with a turban, but he did not have any that day.
Well I don't know if it deserves 12 times 5.0 votes or it is just someone having fun with the votes, anyway it was fun and my last image with a 5D Mark II.
Funny, I only realized on that last day that my backup 5D M2 had a better AF than my main body sold the previous week.

I added a copy of the original cropped color file with a bit more contrast and sharpening in my gallery.

DavesMan: And now someone say that Mark II isn't able to focus using outer AF points! Although Mark III is better.

Focusing was done using all the focus points and a lot of luck...

Stefano M: Thanks to all participants for some very nice pictures you enterd.
Sadly, as it has been happening frequently in these last months, there was a sort of "tactical" sandbagging against Werni Francois. This sabotage seems to be very well studied for "not-changing" the final score of all the photos but only the ones of Werli.
Checking the hystograms, there were three "unusual" voters:
- member 4C8DDAB3 voted 0,5 5 times (one to Werli) and 5.0 6 times,
- member 7E5261C3 voted 0,5 2 times (one to Werli) and 5.0 20 times,
- member 05DE7566 voted 0,5 1 time (...to Werli) and 5.0 22 times.
These three members only voted 0,5 and 5.0 - no in-between scores!
Except for this, all the other votes seem relatively "normal" and depends on cultural background and difference on aesthetical evaluation among all the members: it is totally acceptable for an interpretative challenge like this.
So congratulations to all and I'm very sorry for the spoiled voting pattern against Werli Francois.
Stefano

Thank you Stefano for sharing your experience on this challenge.
3rd place is still okay with 3 x 0,5 votes!
