I cannot say more. I still cannot figure out how this image from at least 2009 competition could be among Challenge of Challenges 2011!

Just for your information. Big utilities companies have a Fix It Now teams (it is not a joke).
And here is a sample of their work. I do not now (even I work for utilities) any Fix It Later crews.

If I have a chance to be there again, I would spend more time shooting interior details, such as hand crafted wood ornaments, (including in back chapel), stairways and colorful stained glass windows.
That place is so beautiful and photographer friendly I could easy spend hole day over there again!

Author said "coil gun". I assume it is not real gunpowder cartridge.
Impact from real bullet's speed may be different.
Gas pressure from gun barrel could blow off whole scene.
But anyway, amazing photo.

Well I got used to this.
a. There isn't Civic Christmas in Russia. No event - no subject of Challenge.
b. New Year wasn't mentioned in Challenge description, for that occasion DPReview
announced different Challenge (Holidays Other Than Christmas). Decorated Pine tree
on Red Square Russians call New Year tree or something like that. Again its nothing to do with Christmas.
c. About St Petersburg images, etc... Ask author what he/she think about.
d. You absolutely right not everyone has opportunity to participate. Why they still doing so?
With my respect to everyone my message is: Everyone could make mistake (including me) but Diversity exist and we have to considered it.

I like your photo very much. Thank you.
And it's exactly what this challenge was for (IMHO).
Unfortunately majority of entries were about sunsets and have a little to do
with summer or summer sunlight.
This challenge went in wrong direction again.

In reality it wasn't so pleasant. Strong wind, very cold and water was roaring after storm.
I cannot understand how ranking system works. YHN submitted only one photo at all, got first place but has only 97% avr. placement rank. Why not 100% ?
