Hi Mr. Mejia,It is only fair to say affordability is relative. IMO, X-Pro and X-E are certainly not cheap when there are competitions like NEX. On the other hand, the X's are seemingly a bargain...

I'm on the same boat as the original poster.
Of the 3 options -- 12mm (zeiss), 14mm (fuji), or the 15mm (Voig), I may go with the fuji.
Zeiss may be out of the price range and its "prototype"...

It'd be awesome if Nikon buys X100 bodies from Fuji and slap Nikon's own sensor on it, like the old days when Fuji DSLR bought the prosumer bodies from Nikon.
-
Now that the X-system is reaching two years of age, I am hoping that Fuji will make external flashes -- preferrably a smallish (EF-X20 size) with TTL and/or manual control that swivels? Is a flash...

Same opinion on the pricing. The more I look, the more I'm leaning toward the 14mm over 12mm over because (order of importance):1) size. The Zeiss looks big. I prefer to go lightweight on the X. 2)...

Personally, I shoot in manual mode so I set ISO, aperture, and shutter speed myself. When you shoot this way, then it's all about the photographer. I DO wish the EC can be used to adjust shutter...

According to another poster, this is automatic. If true, then I guess it's EVF only with the 14mm.
-
I see. That's unfortunate then :(
-
Yes sir. When you hold the switch for 2 to 3 seconds in OVF mode, the optical view changes to a wider view.
-
Chris, thanks for the info. I'm a bit pessimistic about focus peaking updates to the XILC. As far as the 14mm and your image go, do the yellow arrows go away after you change the OVF into wider...

Unfortunately I think Fujifilm is far from "pushing the market beyond Canikon dominance" at the overall level... There's still Sony and Olympus right behind Canikon.
-
Add a few more: focus peaking split image focus mechanism Drive and AF button switched (you don't "pick your nose" to change AF points) AF selector changed (MF and AF-S now on opposite ends) Q button
-
It's the same sensor as X-E1, except for the addition of phase detection. If you really want to blame Fuji, blame them for the AF system, not the sensor.
-
How dare you compare anything to the sacred Leica?
-
Honestly, I believe the X-Pro1, X-E1, and X100S all have the same X-Trans sensor, EXCEPT that the X100S is modified to incorporate PDAF. Otherwise, the sensor is the same.Seriously, I much rather...

That's great news! I do have PTLens. Now I'm tempted.

Appreciate on the advices and the interesting point about the battery being merely frozen up. With that in mind, I would still choose film over D200 for superior resolution and battery-free...

Thanks for the photos! I really wish that Samyang would make a wide angle lens for the X at an affordable price. It hurts to shell out $900 for the XF 14mm and a few hundreds more for the Zeiss...

Hi Thomas,You seem fairly experienced with shooting the northern lights. I have a question for you. How quickly does the cold weather (say, around -20C) drain Li-ion battery? I have a D200 and its...

Great photos as always, Alan! And it's great to keep the weekly S5 Pro thread alive. I must confess that I have not touched my S5 for months. What a shame.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
