Where's the hot shoe and interface for the EVF?
-
There's always someone that doesn't get it. I remember back in the day people that couldn't understand why someone would buy a Porsche Cabriolet when you could get a Camaro 396. Or more recently,...

I was the opposite. I had a 50 f1.4 that I seldom used and sold it for the 35 f1.8. I find that on a DX a 35 fits a lot more situations than a 50. I use the 35 on my D7000 with no grip and a 17-55...

I went from a D200 to a D7000 and couldn't be more happy. I don't often think about my next camera, but when I do I think about the little Panasonic LX7 that will be coming on Tuesday. It cost...

B&H is the best! Took them less than 12 hours!

I haven't even received my LX7 that I ordered from B&H for $348, and already the price has dropped to $298. I requested an adjustment.

Th bottom line is I won't pay. I'm not renting software. I am starting to look at alternatives, which I would never have considered before.

I work for a newspaper. Currently we can go 5-7 years easily on a Photoshop license. If we have to pay a monthly fee indefinitely things will change. We have enough monthly bills without getting...

What about this, where the GR raw image renders red as magenta? I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone bring it up.

According to the manual on page 173 there's an Image Review option under the Playback Menu where you can turn off the instant picture review.

Both the GR and A definitely have TTL. The problem is the Ricoh has one flash available and it's too large. The Nikon has access to the really nice Nikon flash range and much 3rd party support.
-
One place the GR seems very weak is in the add-on flash department. The really need to make a small TTL flash for this thing. Even then the Nikon would be way ahead if flash is important.
-
I've been very taken with the Nikon A, and if the GR were the same price I probably could rule it out simply because I have no familiarity with Ricoh's cameras. However, they are not the same...

When extended the RX100 lens is huge.

Keep in mind the difference between an ISO of 800 and 1600 is 1 f-stop. The differences between many of these cameras is completely insignificant.

The Nikon 35 Ti was a beautiful and very intriguing camera that managed to escape my grasp. I did have a Contax G1 with the 35 and 90 lens as well as the 21 with finder, While can see the virtues...

It's like comparing a Ford F150 to a Mazda Miata.

The 60 would be a great choice. I went with the 60 D myself, because it leaves a little extra distance between the front of the lens and the subject than the 60 G. I got rid of a 50 1.4 because I...

It appears the problem is fading now. Most of the machines I had problems with have spontaneously started work fine with no adjustments. On two I had to clear the browser cache and restart. I...

I got a reply from B&H. They acknowledge a problem and are working on it. Some of the machines I've got access to are now working and some aren't. I would guess there's a router or switch issue on...
