Truly incredible shot. Cant vote now, but this is surely an A+ in my book. Incredible mood and perfect framing. Also, new desktop background - like the one below :)

Right.Right, i understand it now. See below thoughOkay, so perspective has no place in this discussion, good to know. I was reading another post that convinced me to believe that you can have the...

Ugh.. i was pretty sure i understood it, but oh well. But wont the 35mm FF lens on a aps-c camera create a 50% crop, giving a 1.5 mag factor, leaving the equivalent perspective to be 50mm...
-
Thanks. Now, does this mean that a 35mm FF lens, compared to an 50mm aps-c lens, on a aps-c camera, will give (nearly) the same perspective, but the FF lens will have a narrower dof?
-
Pretty simple question, i guess. Will a full frame lense, given the same crop from a full-frame camera, give the exact same image on a aps-c camera - in terms of perspective and dof?If so,...

Sooo i went to the store today, testing out canon 600d and nikon 5100. I thought the 5100 was pretty slow, though smooth, on focusing, while 600d was fast, but noisy. I generally liked the 600d...

I did the same thing you did.. I have been looking a lot on the K-5, and i would buy it instantly if it were cheaper :/ still scouting for a used.

Thanks, nice to have that sorted out. I probably will.

Thanks for the advice, i'm pretty sure im going with this:
Nikon d5100
Nikon af-s 1.8f 35mmKit 18-105 f3.5-5.6 VR (generally good quality, suffers from distortion though)
ORSigma 18-50 f.2.8-4.5...

+1 nice story.
What lense(s) did you end up with? :)

Not worried about camera, worried about lens :) maybe read my reply to glen if you have the time

Bodies with inbuilt af moter :) i do think it's a pretty bad design decision to make every lens have it's own af system (unless it's special/specific/very high quality). It adds weight, price and...

No problem, in hindsight i probably should have added my second post to the first but i cant seem to edit & i didn't want to make a too bulky post. thanks for the advice on the 550d, i'm sure it's...

Hi,thanks for the kick in the butt, i do totally agree with me having spend to long.I didn't include anything about what i shoot because i thought it would be largely irrelevant seeing as the post...

I've now spent the last 1-2 months researching for a new camera.
I think im going to vomit if im reading another camera/lense reviewIt's very hard to start in this area, knowing next to nothing...

Haha yeah, however this has only to do with the dof factor, which i just stumpled upon with that camera.Nice thorough explanation, thanksI haven't thought about bokeh at all, but that seems to be a...

Thanks for the link. And good to know, i will go for a large sensor - as for deep depth of view, that is also important, but when i look through my pictures i see i generally dont use it - besides...

Good to know & thanks for the link. Will probably need to read it a couple of times to grasp everything, though :)

Okay so up untill recently i thougth the only thing affecting your dof was the aperture size, however this seems not to be the case. :pExample, f/1.8 on a small sensor might corrospond to something...
