Nice ones. I just started using a kayak myself, and took our safety class so I know how to get back in if I tip over.... but of course I hope that doesn't happen when carrying camera gear.If I...

I agree that the first one has the most potential for originality. These types of close-ups are pretty tough, but once you know what you want you can be more patient and work on getting the depth...

In some ways the addition of the OMD to my E5 has left me frustrated because the E 5 is far better at outdoor precision handheld focusing, yet the OMD has enough of an advantage in sensor...

To me it's a little different on my Mac. I noticed really good (better than lightroom) detail, but couldn't get colors to look the way I want. They had this kind of odd hdr look to them. However,...

The reason they would ship them there is because the costs are so much lower. The costs are lower because there are less regulations, much lower wages, and weaker unions (though our unions are...

Nice work in general and I love the second still life. It has the appeal of a classic painting.
-
I like it. Fits well into your appealing "Edsthetic."

Sounds like they are well on there way to making The Chicago Sun Times a blog. Newspapers always kill their strengths, and expand their weaknesses.

I don't know but I heard that Olympus repairs in the U.S. go to Texas, which is also new. Perhaps they decided to outsource repairs...

I saw that price too. It was tempting.

Good answer. My "beginner" camera was the Olympus 420 dslr, but really it was quite advanced, and the system allowed me easily go to better lenses and then better bodies.
To me, if the beginner is...

There are some good 4/3 deals now in the used market, and they are still available new. Any kind of hybrid will likely be large-ish and expensive, so I would not expect an immediate rush on the...

Over at the rumor site it appears perhaps possible there will be a hybrid without need for an adapter. Kind of hard to imagine, but cool if true.

It's not the focus speed that's the problem. The focus point easily catches on foreground material or misses the dog and hits some background. My dslr, by contrast (an E5) is far more precise. You...

Perhaps in some future world, if we don't all burn up in a fiery mess of our own creation, a super-variable camera could be created. Its sensor could greatly increase or decrease in size as needed...

I don't know if I've seen that or not, but it does seem like one of those "just right" landscapes, where everything is good from corner to corner, with great clarity and layering.

I believe one or two shot 4/3 cameras in the past (E1 and E3). Makes sense that some would find the GH3 useful.

The E5 is an interesting beast at high iso. On the one hand, it's technically as noisy as any of the other 4/3 sensors of its generation. But that extra detail really does help. I've made iso 6400...

My GH2 had the same low quality raw previews. I just could not trust them for much zooming in. Oly used to do the same but finally fixed it with the E5, and my EM5 seems good too.
