Replied in 'need' and 'want' are two different things
If you 'want' to experience fantastic weathersealed buttons, try out an Olympus E1. What was 'needed' was sealing. However, while sealing on the cheap fulfils the need ... it does feels ... well...

Replied in + 1
They used to have the best enthusiast compacts on the market and ergos were part of that. For some reason, Oly loves to abandon areas where their work is considered among the best available on the...

Replied in + 1 to all the F2 = F2 advocates
f2 = f2 is an exposure related statement only and does not indicate what the final file will look like. Why not argue that 25mm = 25mm = 25mm ... because it does ... and it also does not indicate...

Replied in expensive things cheap
Hmmm ... true enough. Sorry about that.

Replied in expensive things cheap
I'd be interested in buying a rebuilt concorde if it was very cheap as well. I wouldn't mind a very cheap Veyron either.

Replied in retrofocus ... (I think its called)
The shorter register distance means you don't need to retrofocus (if I got that term right) a lens that has a shorter focal length than the register distance. That allows much smaller lenses in the...

Replied in Keep things "equal"
Completely agree with this, but /I/ said identical framing didn't I?

Replied in E-M5 with new 12-35 f2.8 weather sealed lens
I agree with many of the comments here, but I'm excited because what looks to be some very good lenses are appearing in m4/3rds. What's next :-)

Replied in The simple truth ....
Assuming equivalent focal lengths (12-35 4/3rds = 24-70 FF) then the physical size of the aperture will be the same in both lenses when 4/3rds = 1.4 and ff = 2.8. Or f5.6 and f11. Etc.
It is the...

Replied in weather sealed as well
Very interesting.

Created thread panny's 12-35 f2.8 constant (small and fast zoom)
This is more the size that 4/3rds should have been making ... though optical ability has yet to be determined.

Replied in E-30 AF problem
Personally, I think the 11 point Oly AF module is rubbish, but that's just me.
However, some people have gotten good results after they adjusted the focus for each lens. The 11 point focus does...

Replied in how often should i use my gh2s sensor clean function
Someone is either pulling your leg or really doesn't know what they're talking about.

Replied in E1 viewfinder
I always thought the E1 viewfinder was an excellent compromise in this regard.

Replied in sorry to everyone
I should have just ignored this post. And sorry to Milsuper for an unprovoked personal attack.

Replied in What is an 'optimal' resolution?
Once again, bringing the argument to a level of simplicity that renders it useless.
On the other hand, come people here really can hold more than one idea in their heads at a time. You should...

Replied in phase detect allows for competent CAF
Though I would argue 4/3rds has never had competitive CAF, it is useable in some conditions whereas the contrast detect CAF is mostly useless.
