  • Depends on the reviews I suppose, some are very good. Fantastic low light performance and Image Stabilization is a huge step forward for a smartphone camera - that isn't hype, nothing else comes...

  • That's true, but since the 808 and the 920 were both released last year and represent the cutting edge in photo technology on smart phones this does not bode well for where Nokia is going in the...

  • Commented on HTC One X Review post

One other thing that should be mentioned is the downside of the Camera lens being located on the very end of the Camera bump on the back of the phone (its not recessed). When you set the phone...

  • Commented on Review: Nokia 808 PureView article

It appears there is a serious bug affecting the 808, basically the phone, text and data connection freezes (although the user looking at the phone won't be able to tell since it looks like a good...

  • Commented on Review: Nokia 808 PureView article

The Windows Phone 8 version won't have the 808's big sensor (it'd make the WP 8 phone too expensive since the WP 8 phone's guts are much more expensive than the computer guts of the 808). The high...

  • Commented on Review: Nokia 808 PureView article

They can't bring the same camera capabilities in Win or And or iPhone because the whole phone would be too expensive - the Symbian OS was extremely efficient (one of its strengths) and the hardware...

  • The big surprise for me is that you can't use it as a phone. It's just a connected camera. There's probably somebody that might wants something like that...maybe...

  • I've heard the data contract is required as well (no sharing your existing data plan). Bit of an odd design (why not make it a full mobile phone...), best of luck to Samsung with it.

  • Nice review and excellent analysis on the flare that's been caught up on the tech sites - really nice job taking the time to show and explain it. Hats off to you guys.

    Looks like we'll be seeing...

  • Yeah, you have to read the story before commenting - they mention in it they will have a more lengthy review coming with comparisons to other smart phone camera's.

  • The rock in the water looks much better on the 4S and the water fall is in shadow in the 4S....for phones they are obviously good cameras, but I don't see the 5's camera being significantly better...

  • This is a small spot of where the world has changed over the last couple of years, where phones have basically taken over a huge chunk of the low end P&S market and DPReview should report on them. ...

  • They kept it the same width and only made it a little taller, you can still easily do everything with one hand (which is their "test), definitely not following Samsung and HTC.

  • Found out why today....Microsoft is way behind where they should be with the Windows Phone 8 software - they have not released the SDK for WP 8 yet (something they normally do 3 or more months...

  • Couple of points. Nokia is wedded to Windows Phone (WP) because Microsoft is giving them over $1 billion dollars to keep them alive in the mean time.

The hardware for this Nokia WP 8 rollout (920...

  • Probably not for a while. Nokia isn't even "announcing" when they'll release the phone until the 4th quarter....

  • The sensor being that small is rather disappointing, but the F number and IS are very enticing details, I look forward to real reviews to see how it performs.
