valenttin: Why not the "out of the camera" image?

The out of camera size is too big.

anisah: Have the entrants so far not read the challenge rules, or have I misunderstood them? From what is said it would appear that entrants are expected to download the example image and use their post process skills to remove the grain and sharpen the image without sacrificing detail and colour. All entrants (4) at this stage have entered new images of kingfishers.
It would be helpful if the host would clarify the expectations for this challenge.

All are welcome.

Yes all processing must be done on the sample image provided. The processed image must be uploaded in it's original size. This is a challenge in your processing skills.

Very impressive. How long does it it take to do the processing? Is the process automated or a lot of mual work?

So far you are ahead of the rest. Looks like Topaz de noise is an excellent tool. Is all the steps you mentioned are automated or you have to spend a lot of effort to do it. How long does it take for you to process the photo.

webrunner5: Wow, hard way to make a living!

You should be there to realise how difficult and basic life is. I saw 1 women porter feeding 4 young kids as she carry on with her porter work. The kids follow her cart as she moves about.

Thank you for your kind comment. By the way the scene is sun rise (day break) rather then sunset.

Thank you Ed. Yes the Mitakon 50mm f0.9 is a remarkable lens especially under very low light condition. The IQ is very good and value for money too. It costs less then USD1k and it is a China lens.

On photo Synchro Diving in the Monopod Challenge challenge (3 comments in total)
In reply to:

oldfogey: Why, when using a shutter opening of less than about 1/30'th of a second would anyone use a monopod (or tripod) when the image stabilization systems available on most modern cameras would do as good or better job? This challenge seems to rely a bit too much on the honesty of the entrants since there is nothing in the EXIF file to say whether an external device was used to stabilize the camera - and for most of the 5 entries so far - there was no obvious need.

If you have handle a Minolta 300mm f2.8 before then you will reliase how useful a monopod is. This beast is extremely heavy. The monopod is not only useful in stabilizing the shot it also helps in focusing.
