Dan Ortego: As a former Leica owner, this is a great addition although I believe it will be priced in typical Leica fashion.
Looks like a nice $350.oo camera.
One thing that I forgot to add in my previous posting is how great this little camera would be telephoto lens use. With Nikon's great lens know how and the smaller sensor I can see them coming out with some amazingly compact yet high quality long lenses!
The V1 looks a lot better than I expected but with the price where it is....the Sony NEX-5n with the OLED viewfinder is only a little more!....I don't think I'd actually buy the V1 just yet. It would be a lot of fun to play around with however!
Just because Nikon is coming out with a small sensor mirrorless cameras now doesn't mean they're not coming out with an aps-c mirrorless camera at some point.
The jpeg's look pretty good the raw's should get better with a more optimized raw converter. Another thing that concerns me is the need for really good glass for this and the Nex-7 with their 24mp APS-c sensor's....I guess you'll have to go primes or Zeiss $$
I'd like to see what Canon comes out with before I actually think of buying any of these new mirrorless cameras. Right now the new Sony's look to be the best thing out there! I really hope DPReview does one of their great comparison tests on all the mirrorless cameras. Also, the price on these new baby Nikons seems a little too high?
Looks like the S100 could be a really useful take anywhere camera! I'm interested in seeing if there is an improvement with Digic V/ CMOS and 24mm on the wide end is great! If it doesn't test out well I'll probably be looking at a Nex 5n or 7 although they have there own set of problems not really being as pocketable also the new 24mp sensor is going to require better lenses than the 16mm or the kit zoom.
I want it but I'm waiting for the in depth review...so many of these cameras look great at first but turn out with just average IQ or are slow, etc. Also, at $1400 it better be great!
