Best thing about the 10D is the quiet shutter...almost Leica quiet. Too bad they couldn't have kept that in their later models.

It's great technology for the small sensors but the backlit name is mostly marketing but amazing none the less.

So why do they call it a backlit sensor? I saw the news about Sony coming out with a dual layer sensor that's even more efficient but why is the original one called backlit? Thanks

I wouldn't be surprised if Nikon came out with a similar camera perhaps a P8100 ? The two companies do take Q's from each other in case you haven't noticed.

I'm not sure which camera is better but as far as Canon purple fringing goes it's removed with Digic 5...my s100 is free of that.

I upgraded from a 10d to a 60d about a year ago. I'd look for a deal on a 60d or 7d rather than a rebel series camera because of the penta prism viewfinder alone...bigger brighter more precise....

Canon must be smoking something if it thinks a camera with a 2/3" (1/1.5") sensor and a 28 to 112 lens will be a success at $800 !! I think it must be a large 1.5" sensor camera with the fixed zoom...
