Really enjoyed the creativity in your gallery.
This photo deserved a much better classification.

It is very interesting to observe that almost all photos of this author have three votes of 5 stars in the last challenges, whether they are worthy or not.

It is very interesting to observe that almost all of your photos in the challenges have three votes of 5 stars. This photo simply don't deserve the 1st place.

DUMB4SS: I think this one is a well deserved winner as well.
No 2 is good, but No 3 looks a bit HDR or dodged and burned a bit much.

Yes, I totally agree with you on No. 3. It would be my favorite if less burned. Please see my comment below.

Mark Hollister: It could be it's just you, Paolo. I think this one deserves first place. Nice shot, Bluedeep.

I'd like to understand what is so special with this picture.
Let me explain what I think, not to diminish the picture, but willing to learn through your answers:
- The picture is crooked;
- The sky is not interesting, nor his emptiness brings a better effect;
- Effects applied seem very unnatural;
- There is nothing that stands out, maybe because the person is just posing and centered horizontally and the other elements in the picture only distract without adding anything else.

Is it just me or the 2nd and 3rd photos are much better?
Also, average votes for each photo is below 20 and this one has 28 votes with a rather unusual number of 5 stars.

keystone correction has been done excessive, is irritating.

It seems ok to me, everything in a correct perspective.
But there is a pipe or pole that is tilted which can be misleading.
Can you explain in more detail the excess you mention?

Is it possible to remove the sandbagging?
It seems quite difficult to understand the correct value of our photos if some votes are not to be considered serious.

Goami: you know, it's getting boring to read the same comments... "you are cheater, cause you are cheater, and you are cheating"... nobody cares that no rules were broken, nobody cares that no fake accounts were created, nobody cares my previous messages... you always have 10 words for my one ("cheater, cheater, cheater etc...)
people, i'm totally agree, that creating fake accounts is cheating, and i'm totally agree that voting 1 stars for all others is disgusting... but no fake accounts were created by me, and i'm sure that my friends didn't do that way...
i don't even know, why if dpreview allows you to invite new people to the voting why don't you do that way? more than that, i thought that it is target of creating this challenge... i think we just do the same things, guys, by different ways, and you call my way "cheating"...
by the way, administration still didn't contact with me about the lense, and i will be realy happy, if they will not :)

As I understand you, it seems we should feel sorry for you because:
1) you're not feeling well after reading all these posts;
2) you already have two identical lenses, despite one is broken;
3) you're feeling pressure to withdraw your photo.

Just some ideas I came across, maybe it will make you feel better:
1) stop reading the comments, nobody forces you;
2) offer the lens to whom you recognize its merit, may be the author of the image #2, #5 or anyone else you might consider worthy;
3) start agreing it other folks here and judge fairly your photo, promote a different voting system and help the community to improve itself.

Objectively speaking, you have the freedom, the power and the responsability, so don't blame us.

You are lying when saying nobody cares, because a lot of people have already said it's a nice photo, no rules were broken and it's DPs fault these kind of vote can happen.

You are lying when saying you would be happy if DP doesn't' contact you about the lens, because you have the opportunity to demonstrate that. Often people don't walk the talk. That's your case.

Who knows what else are you lying about. You pretend to be a victim, presenting a false image of yourself.

As I already said, stop behaving like a child and accept the consequences of your acts, whether you like our comments or not.

If you cannot take responsibility for your acts, maybe you might just drop the prize in favor of a deserving photo.

Goami: People, i posted this message once, but i'll post it one more time...
I don't see any cheating in friends support... I didn't create any fake accounts for voting, i didn't forced some people to do that way... I only asked some of my friends to support me in the challenge, if they consider that my photo is good enough...

Yeah, right! And by the way, all your friends considered your photo to be worth 5 stars? And maybe all the other 0.5 stars, I guess? I have also asked some friends to vote not only in my photo, but also in the challenge, and they voted as they wanted (not all rushing for 5 stars). Having more than 50 friends voting 5 stars doesn't make you innocent, as you are trying to seem. Even after seeing that you are an unfair winner (please read all the comments), are you trying to make fool uf us? Shame on you!

So, this photo has more 5 stars than the first 3.
Odd enough, the rest of the stars are mainly between 1.5 and 3.5.

In reply to:

mapeters: This photo is solid, however the vote spread looks very suspicious. I suspect someone created a few extra accounts for themselves to ensure that they received an abnormally high number of "5" votes.

Of the highest rated photos, the vote spread for numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 all look very suspicious. Compare the votes on those photos to the pictures that received 5th, 12th, 14th, and so forth, and it suddenly looks like a few people have been playing the very unethical "create extra vote accounts" game.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the vast majority of the people voting 5.0 on photos 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 where using accounts created in the last 10 days or so, rather than the usual 3-48 month old accounts of most members.

I'm afraid what you suspect is true.
Just looking at the vote distribution of the first 4 pictures is quite obvious where the vote trend is. Looking at the 5th position one can see a more fair and balanced distribution.

IcyVeins: this is so obviously rigged, it's a great photo, but there's no way this person legitimately got 51 5 star votes and no more than 6 votes for any other level. He/she probably annoyed a bunch of friends into signing up for free accounts and rigging the voting. There was an average of 25 votes per person and this image got 80 votes, that doesn't happen by accident. Sorry but this should be DQ'ed.

Indeed! The 5th photo sure looks better than the first 4 and seems to have a legit score.

They should drop the scores from:
- people who registered only a few days ago;
- people that only voted for 1 photo;
- people with extremely unbalanced votes;

They can also read our comments and check which photos don't deserve a certain classification by simply analyzing the awkward vote distribution. It is very simple to see in the first 4 photos where are the vote trend if the 5 stars vote is removed.
