Replied in Excellent
Hi Dovi,
The longest part was the travel to the location! :-)
Setup was pretty quick, on a tripod with a wide angle lense. I had spent a lot of time envisioning the shot(s), but in the end...

Replied in Easter Island, Rapa Nui
Thanks Dave - I did see your Joshua Tree photos you posted on DPR a few weeks back, though I think I was out of town when I saw them so didn't comment. I remember seeing one long exposure of a tree...

Replied in Easter Island, Rapa Nui
Thanks Roel, it was a very enjoyable morning, though I'm sure a lot of people were not happy with me flashing the statues every few minutes. Fortunately I was the only photographer there with a...

Created thread Help me build this :)
After seeing the results from this "giant ring light," I'm determined to build one. The results are extremely even and very addictive. Any idea on how to build something like this? Cowboystudio...

Hi all, here's one from Easter Island last month. This was my first attempt at photography during the middle other night (well, before sunrise), where there's no visible light at all. The sky...

Replied in Forehead and skin tones
I really like the flower, as it adds dimension to the portrait. I'm not a fan of the model's top as it just adds to the distracting background; given the background, I probably would have chosen a...

This image was a result of five frames bracketed photos, from -2EV to +2EV. The intent was to increase dynamic range (sunrise image), what I found was that this technique also...

Yes, the method can work, in that by combining using HDR techniques, you increase apparent sharpness by reducing noise thereby increasing detail....

Replied in Raina Hein Beauty
Great lighting. Are the cheekbones burned in post, or are the shadows created entirely by the lighting?

Replied in Lenses in the Studio
I think if your ambient is high enough, the 50mm f/2 will be fine. But, it's a pretty poorly focusing lens (slow, hunts) in low light, and I've had model complain about it (imagine that!).

Replied in Studio shooting
