  • Submitted a challenge entry Meisho Maru No38
The Meisho Maru No 38 was a small Japanese fishing vessel that ran aground in the stormy waters around L'Agulhas on 16 November 1982. The accident occurred close to shore and the crew of 17 all managed to swim to safety. After surviving seas than at times can produce swells of up to 30 metres, the ship finally broke apart a few years ago. It makes for an ideal spot for a sunset sundowner.

  • Submitted a challenge entry Drakensberg
The Drakensberg (Dragon mountains) seems to be a very fitting name for this magnificent mountain range in South Africa, as the slopes seem scorched by Dragons. The locals burn huge areas to promote fresh plant growth and stop wildfires. This practice not only produces black slopes but also a lot of smoke trapped between the high mountains

  • Replied in C&C please :-)
well, you had a big chance of being right I guess, but no. I favor underdog companies for some reason, and am completely in love with my fujifilm. I use capture One, as it is supposed to give the ...

  • Created photos C&C please :-)
Hi everyone, I shot this image a couple of weeks ago on the 'panorama route' in South Africa, where I was overwhelmed by it's beauty (of the panorama route that is..) This was one of my favorite ...
  • Thank you. A very interesting place indeed. It lays very isolated in a valley with no car tracks leading to it (anymore). I had to get a permit to go there, and it took me more than two hours on a ...
  • Created photos C&C old power plant
Hi everybody, I'd like some C&C on these shots I made in an old abandoned water power plant (once the largest in Africa) I'm trying to get the "old news paper look" The shots are RAW conversions, ...
  • I only started serious photography a couple of months ago, but I actually do nearly everything with manual focus because I was sick and tired of point & shoot cameras telling me what to do. For ...
  • This was no way near a controlled environment.. we were on car safari, so you drive until you see something, take a picture, drive on. Also, my friends in the car get very impatient when they need ...
  • This was the case exactly. The behavior of the birds in the first shot is very territorial, meaning that when they feel "threatened" (by a big white car for example) they fly up and make erratic ...
  • Thanks! I have the focus points on my fn button, but never combined it with the thumb wheel. xD It did work in AF mode, but not in manual mode (the one I mostly use). If I have a birdshot like this ...
  • Hi, Thank you guys, for the responses. They give some great advise. I had noticed that the background was in focus so I know the lens focussed on the background. I do in fact use the manual focus+ ...
  • Created discussions what's the problem here?
These were all taken with the x-e1+ 55-200 combo. I was really pleased with it's results, but lately the lens seems to have serious focussing issues. I am the type of person that always blames his ...
  • I'm not sure if they put enough razor wire on the roof ;-)
  • You are right, It is not. But it is highly desirable in a backpack. Of course malleability is less desirable for a camera itself ;-)  I think you should just see my last comment as a written out ...
