I've never been to a bull fight, but if I were to go, (as someone else said) I would certainly take a camera. I love to take photographs, and like it or not, this is really a spectacle. I think...

Anytime you shoot in RAW in ANY camera, chances are 99.99% that you will have to do some post processing to get the image looking like it should. If you don't want to do that, you have to shoot in...

Good job with the additional PP. Just what it needed.
-
How did you confirm that?
-
I just checked the image, and the particulars are F/6.5, 1/8sec., ISO1600. That actually amazes me. Imagine hand-holding 4800mm at 1/8sec!! The IS must be pretty good!

According to Russ in the Astrophotography Forum, it is star 53 Tauri, magnitude 5.5.

It's a digital enhancement, and it's built into the SX50. The optical zoom goes to 1200mm, and can be digitally enhanced anywhere up to 4x. It can be turned on and off in the settings. Canon has...

I'll look on the image and get back to you.

Russ, thank you so much for the clarification. I'm not really a sky person, but I really could have done a better job of researching the image. If I get another opportunity, I'll try a tripod and...

I didn't have my tripod the other night, but I sat in a chair and pointed the SX50 straight up, handheld. At 4800mm, perhaps you can excuse the blur.Io, Europa, Ganymede and CallistoEvening of...

I'll see about doing that.

I have no idea what that is. Perhaps a far-off star?

Very nice! I didn't have my tripod the other night, but I sat in a chair and pointed the SX50 straight up, handheld. At 4800mm, perhaps you can excuse the blur.Io, Europa, Ganymede and...

Well, it does amaze me. Here's a shot I took of the moon when it was directly overhead, so that I had to look straight up. I leaned back against a stair railing to steady myself. This is the...

If that's true, man, that is pitiful!!! A full 1-stop range for bracketing?!?

Sorry, I misspoke. The closeup of Jupiter was actually a crop of a 1200mm RAW image.
-
So I actually did the same thing. The first shot was taken in RAW at 1200mm, on a flimsy $30 tripod, and is just one exposure, thus none of Jupiter's moons are visible. The second shot was in...

I'm using this one on an SX50, and it works great. Adds a bunch of timing features.http://www.amazon.com/NEEWER®-Timer-Remote-Control-RS-60E3/dp/B003Q9RERY/ref=pd_sim_p_11

Yes, so many people were having trouble figuring this out that we need to keep this at the top of the forum for a while, so people see it.
