The difference between the image and what you see in the viewfinder changes all the time. The viewfinder is a little bit off the optical axis of the lens, resulting in varying parallax errors...

Seems to be shutter related, maybe a cable.Repair costs about as much as the current value of the camera. As it is hyper sensitive to sensor dust, too, I won't continue this frustrating experience....

The XE1 is no viable answer right now, because there are no "real" wideangle lenses in the Fuji system yet.
