Fuji say nothing about having the lens connected if one updates firmware, only to not remove the lens during the process. --JL Smithwww.flickr.com/photos/jl_smithwww.clickingwithsmitty.com

Nice choice. I actually got my new-to-me XE1 and 18-55 in the mail today (barely caught the postman leaving my house!)
I'm in the exact boat as you, although I shoot a 5D3 and not Nikon. I hated...

I would highly recommend visiting fredmiranda.com and the alternative gear forum with this questjon, as there is a lot of alt knowledge there and maybe another good place to pose this...
-
Very good to hear this. I have a used XE1 + 18-55 incoming and I cannot wait!
I'm just like you too, I've used a lot of cameras and never relied on just JPEG, even with my OMD. Oly's JPEGs are...

Try loading up the raw in Lightroom or PS and lower the red channel luminance a bit and saturation just a tad. Not perfect, but it'll help those tulips.

Nice work, I love the angles and the light.
I would say I'm not a fan of the tonal work, though -- I could be wrong, but it appears there has been some local contrasting on the face, making it...

Fuji can somewhat make up for the lack of IBIS through its excellent high ISO. Just crank it for faster shutter.
OMD is nice from Oly, I had a complete Oly setup and it was nice and touch/swivel...

Check your email that you're registered at with Nik (you DID register, right?) Strangely enough, I had to check my SPAM GMAIL folder to find the Nik email. The irony wasn't lost on me :D

Tonal contrast alone is almost worth the price of admission. Silver efex 2 is awesome also

Read the google plus article linked, basically keep a lookout for an email that will allow the free software.

More in the google plus link. They say keep a lookout for an email in the coming days.

Here's an idea, pay the $40 or so for a Smugmug or Flickr account and share whatever size you want without having to jump through some stupid hoops. And Smugmug looks about 50x cooler than anything...

So all of this camera "innovation" -- are manual controls of the camera one of them? I use iphone 5 and havent used android since my Droid X, so unsire if they let you actually control SS and...

I picked up a used 5d3 in mint condition and so far it has been great. AF is really nice. IQ is somewhere around 5D2 levels and a little better at higher ISO, which is good. Unfortunately shadow...

If you're getting bad WB even after setting a proper custom WB, I would send it back for a checkup. No WB issues here.
-
Nice mountain night shot by the way.For your solution : You might try making a custom contraption to keep your lens warm.Either rubber band a chemical hand warmer packet to the lens (with maybe a...

All valid concerns. I must say though, the 1DX is a completely different beast than the D800, but if you're looking for faster frames, this might be the fix. Quite frankly I wouldn't get the 85...

I'd say, unless you're a complete moron, you've hired the photographer by viewing his/her portfolio beforehand....so if you liked their results, who the heck cares what they're using? /served

Here's the deal - I mostly shoot with my primes. I carry the OM-D and the GX-1, but 90% of the time I shoot with the OM-D.I've changed lenses in the field constantly. Hell, I even shot a (windy!)...

Sure it has...it's called a Panasonic GX-1 with a 20mm 1.7 lens :-)Glad you like the 6D though - I've been considering adding FF back into my arsenal, and the 6D is one of the contenders.JL...
