I've got the same exact one from eBay on my X100. It's worked out great for me so far.

I like your pictures! I think the weather there is so unpredictable: some of your shots clearly show much worse weather, but in others like the Bixby bridge shot you seem to have better weather...

Both photos were processed using PhotoScape: backlighting, sharpness increase and contrast enhancement.

Thanks... well that's my wife and I would say we are both amateurs, albeit I'm less of one because I was using the X100 95% of the time on this trip. This was really the first trip we had two...

Sure I had some issues with it, but overall I like the results. Here are some some example shots. I processed the JPEGs in PhotoScape for the first time. But this tool will likely replace Picasa...

I will answer my own question: I was able to achieve similar film simulations using PhotoScape (freeware) Film Filters. Specifically the "Agfa - Middle" or "Agfa - High" filters. I used it on my...

I took my X100 along on a CA roadtrip recently and used it along side my D5000. I noticed that every now and then the X100 would shoot completely blown out and overexposed shots. This was totally...

I found the following on another board. Is it an accurate statement when it comes to the X100:
"The exposure compensation only really changes shutter speed for sure in Aperture priority, and most...

Okay, thank you for the detailed explanation.
So what I can do is change the the exposure compensation and the camera will automatically increase the shutter speed from what it originally thinks it...

Ummmm.... because that is how you reduce camera shake or motion blur?!?
I don't understand your point... I was getting a blurry shot with slow shutter speeds that the camera was picking for the...
