The samples from Cameralabs are very eloquent and the lens seems quite sharp. But the bokeh is far too creamy for my taste, even at f1.8.
This is... nuts! Most of the best rated entries have nothing to do with the theme, which is not really nuts but nut cakes . Why hasn't the challenge moderator DQ'ed them?
Thanks but, apparently, no one else seems to bother.
Is it me or are most of these samples over-exposed by 1/3 stop?
Very nice tutorial. The "red layer" trick is pretty effective and step-forward.But I feel it could just as be reached by using the right exposure at the time of shooting. You can make a first measurement of light on your subject's skin tone then dial-in a +2/3E compensation to obtain a similar effect. Those with an Olympus camera can make sure face recognition is ON and don't even have to compensate exposure.
Terrible stuff. Totally freaks me out. Makes your best shots look like robotic faces from a Twilight Zone episode. I can't fathom why anyone would want their model, wife or neighbor to look like this.
Oops, my bad, please ignore.
