Thanks for all answers!
Yes, I can do pretty much everything with my current software, so I am a happy amateur :)
However, this "issue" came to mind when I saw how effectively we could process...

Yes, but using the raw converter (lightroom) for everything, not having to export pictures, and then import again to keep it in the library is time consuming. Especially when comparing to mobile...

Overall I do understand your argument, but I also have a few issues (?) with it.
I really dont think it would make Lightroom more complex to implement these ideas (old ideas actually). It could...

Hi all!
As an amateur photographer/hobbyist, I use Lightroom as my primary PP software, and Photoshop Elements for more advanced features, Photomatix for HDR etc. Meaning I have good tools for the...

I´d say neither. For protection, use a lens hood instead. It protects the front element, and it increases IQ (prevent lens flare, increase contrast).

Really cool cross section!
To my mind, the bulkyness is a good thing, due to ergonomics.
I am lucky enough to have access to quite awesome equipment at work, and a while a go I brought my camera,...

Are you planning to expand, and later ship to Europe?

Nice pictures! My favorite is the second one.

Do you get an error code?

With those lenses you mentioned here, I think the 6D will run rings around pretty much any APS-C camera, no matter what lens you put on it.
I´d stay with the 6D and your lenses. It is not THAT...

lol it is almost irritating, because Canon is not very innovative atm., and there is no denying that their sensors are lacking behind the competition. However, if you look at the total package...

The first shot is fantastic!! Great job!

I am no expert in indoor sport shooting, I have to make that clear :)
However, from what I´ve read and understand, indoor shooting is mostly done in M mode, and with a set white balance. If I were...

I expect the 70D to be more like the 7D is today, but with a few modern tweaks like wifi and GPS, and better IQ (better high ISO, and no banding). Further, the 7D mark II will be kicked up a notch,...

I make my decision based on what shoes they are wearing, not camera gear :)

You are right that they use cameras, but they test sensors. The score they come up with has nothing to do with ergonomics, button layout, effectiveness of AF, viewfinder coverage etc. It is the...

I dont think Camera makers will ever tweak their cameras/lenses to do well on the DxO tests for several reasons.
First of all, I bet that 90% of dSLR buyers never have heard of DxO, hence...

I am a hostage of Canon, but I also have to mention that I like my little Canon dSLR! Proper technique can often compensate for other shortcomings. However, I fear that I´ll wear the camera out...

Thank you for a well thought out answer!
The noise is pretty much the only thing that is keeping me away from Sony ATM. That and my investment in Canon gear hehe! Anyway, lenses keep their value...

Thank you for great answers. It is hard to know what functions I need/want if I have never tried them, and I only tried my dads A77 for about an hour. I really liked that camera!
