bobbarber: Well, I see that Ricoh got a lens that is sharp in the corners wide open, whereas Nikon failed.

Somebody was arguing with me forever on the Nikon A thread, trying to convince me that the corners of the Nikon A were sharp. And he had the cajones to do it even with the Nikon A sample images available and the flaws in the corners pointed out to him!

This camera interests me. I never got the Ricoh GR thing in the past, and I'm a cult camera kind of guy. But this thing looks way cool.

If it doesn't deviate from the smaller-sensor GR-Ds (which it doesn't seem to), then it's poised be one of the best (if not the best) "photographer's P&S" in the market for a long time.

this will eat a good portion the target market that Fuji X100s and Sony RX-1 currently has.

On Billingham marks 40 years of history article (32 comments in total)

I've gone through a lot of camera bags: Tamrac, Lowepro, ThinkTank, Crumpler, and so many others...IMO nothing comes close to the workmanship, design, and usefulness of a Billingham (I have the Hadley Pro). Its quick-release flap designs without the use of ugly/loud velcros is one of the many reasons it stands out from its competition.

On Time magazine showcases Top 10 photos of 2012 article (147 comments in total)

CameraLabTester: These top ten images show why Time Magazine is in drastic decline of readers and viewers.

There's already so much suffering, anguish and bloodshed in tabloids, blogs, and social media... why replicate it again and again?

The only saving grace is the tornado.

.

@CameraLabTester, your comment is bizarre; you complain about photos depicting suffering and anguish and bloodshed and yet the one you point out as "saving grace" is the tornado photo as if the tornado signifies happiness and unicorns?

And as @topstuff said, you missed the point.

I personally think Dominic Nahr's photo is the most striking...but that's me, of course.

On Accessory Review: Manfrotto Solo VI DSLR Holster Bag article (96 comments in total)

Guys and gals...I think we are all glossing over its one important feature: since the Logo looks like an arrow, it serves another purpose: you can put a Post-It that says "Photographer Wannabe" or simply "Douche" on the latch beneath the arrow. Everyone wins.

I keed, I keed.

P.S.
No, I won't be caught dead touching this bag...let alone use one.

Banana Chips™: The lack of CRC (floating element) is a disappointment...

@maxpayne: why the hate? also, the 24/1.4 AFS doesn't have CRC either...

I can understand why Nikon decided not to add CRC; it already has aspherical elements...maybe enough to make up for the lack of CRC...we'll have to see when the first review comes...

cdlm: Brand infringement, I would understand, but copyright is ridiculous.

Should Avatar pay up to Dance with Wolves because the plot is similar?

No, Avatar should pay up to the moviegoers because it's a terrible movie...but I digress...
