  • Commented on Ricoh GR Hands-on Preview preview

I have to hand it to Ricoh; their cameras have always been decent; but not as good as their fans foam at the mouth saying. However with this they have utterly, utterly blown the Nikon A out of the...

  • if thats the criteria for buying a camera you value, you are better off with an XZ-1. The RX100 would be wasted on you.

  • Forgive my necroreply, but about the Kiron 24mm f2; your example hazed because it was hazed. Common problem with them, but they are easy to clean. Also easy to fix the stuck aperture blades, at...
  • Technically you are right, but also technically Digital vastly out resolves and out performs film (don't bother trying to shove unsubstantiated wax nostalgics about how much 'better' film is)....

  • amen, and not to dog on Hesselblad(in light of the Lunar debacle), but they too are also far far more well known among the vapid model set than Leica.

Most of the reason for Leica's ridiculous...

  • Very strange sensor issue for sure, looks superficially a lot more like a lens element issue, but not quiet. Ether way it is very sad because the R1 is an impressive beast for its age.
  • Replied in Bottom line..
Yes and no, I mean theoretically had Samsung done with BSI technology to 1/1.7" what Canon did to 1/2.3" it could have done much better against the RX100. The said truth is they didn't, at base ISO...
  • Also Alessandrini is just like those trashy businessmen also with Italian heritage who slap a bunch of hideous body kit on cheapos like ford mustangs and tried to market them to the...

  • The true mark of a despicable marketeer, Mr Alessandrini is completely oblivious to the problem. A partnership with Sony is not the problem, its the fact that they are making tacky tarted up APS-C...

  • What a stupid piece of crap, heads up to Hasselblad; the ONLY people interested in buying something with you name on it EXPECT a medium format sensor inside. No less!

  • must be doing something right then.

  • get fast glass, even the old 18mp sensor can do amazing night shots with a fast lens.

  • Globally Sony has found itself being pounded into the dirt by the Korean mega corps for over a decade. It's only been in the USA due to stronger brand respect has it held on well, this new found...

  • Globally Sony has found itself being pounded into the dirt by the Korean mega corps for over a decade. It's only been in the USA due to stronger brand respect it has there, this new found...

  • Sigma and Ricoh insistence on their price premium for innovation will always relegate them as niche unknowns.

  • The RX100 has indeed caught Canon and the others off guard, but there fortress like brand name and lower price will ensure this one is still a good seller.

  • Ugh get rid of that disposable style viewfinder already, also using the Sensor out of the S100 will bite them a little. Having a faster lens is always welcome though, given the size of the sensor,...

  • Commented on Fujifilm XF1 hands-on preview preview

haha keep dreaming, the G series and many early digitals are timelessly fugly. Kinda like some crudely made instant cameras from 30 years ago.

  • Oh I have, but that demographic seems to me more the type to spring for a diamond encrusted Leica X2 than for anything Sony made.
  • flawed logic, just because something is expensive and worth it doesn't mean someone rational will want to bend over and get shafted for something CLEARLY not worth the money.
