A "no-brainer" for me. Of those inexpensive tele-zooms, the EF-S 55-250 is the best optically, and the only one with Image Stabilizaton.
IMHO, YMMV

Yes, all EF lenses from the film era to today will mount directly and work with any digital EOS cameras except the new EOS-M which would require an adapter.
When you list it, be sure to get the...

+1.
It has excellent optical performance, and is suitable for any user unless they have specific additional needs (and additional budget), like ruggedness for heavy use, or want non-rotating barrel...

Portrait (face icon), Landscape (mountain icon), and Auto ("green box") are all full autoexposure modes, setting the ISO (light sensitivity), shutter speed, and aperture. But each determines the...

Each company's TTL flash exposure communications are proprietary. You could connect the Oly speedlite in the T2i's hotshoe, but it would only fire at full output without TTL autoexposure control.

I posted an hour or 2 ago and it was still listed In Stock for $639. Now they've corrected it, In stock but at $1149. Should have put an order in. Snooze I lose. :D

Re the EF-S 18-55 STM, it's a pretty darn good lens optically. So is the EF-S 18-135 STM (and EF-S 15-85). But they're all relatively slow f/3.5-5.6 maximum aperture. Only 'faster' alternative...

If you're in the market for this try ordering it through the Ritz online offer. Ritz will probably cancel the order or send the non-IS model, but there's outside chance they'll honor their mistake...

nit-pick: for a given focal length, the Angle of view does not change with subject distance. Your question is with respect to Field of View.
An approximate calculation is
Distance = (Subject...

I would think using a lens hood would prevent light from the side reaching the lens surface. Wide-angle lens hoods aren't very deep, may also need to manually shade the lens from the flash with a...

Canon's wireless remotes are the RC-1, RC-5, RC-6. They all work on EOS bodies that have IR remote capability, from film bodies of the 1990's to the latest T5i. So far as I know, the...

Get the speedlite, 430EX II or a high-powered equivalent. 270EX is not really powerful enough and the zooming and bounce angle of the head is too limited.
AND get the EF 50 f/1.8 II. Too cheap...

If the bursts are in sets of 3, then I'm guessing she has inadvertently set Flash Exposure Bracketing (FEB) and the Drive is set to Continuous. Under "ETTL" will be 3 rectangles,...

If you purchased a 650D/T4i or 100D/SL1 and are looking already to upgrade, you simply bought the wrong camera. Otherwise, use it to it's fullest and in a couple years if you need features not...

Sounds like you need a good, wide ranging zoom. I chose EF-S 15-85 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, but you won't find it new or refurbished for under $500. With that constraint, I would choose from:
EF-S...

(1) Need at least Class 6, and Class 10 is recommended. More Gb is better. (p. 171 of the instruction manual)
(2) a single video file is limited to 4GB (p. 181). At highest resolutions that can...

I stand corrected. Good to know. I was going by the note that B&H includes in the description:
Note: This filter ring's outside diameter is slightly larger than the actual thread size, and...
