LR 4.4 improves very fine detail resolution of 12 mp EXR files compared to older versions. It is now able to match the resolution of out-of-camera JPGs.
Older versions were also very well capable...

Yes, you are right. Sorry for the confusion.

Or you could use ISO 200, expose 1 stop shorter and apply 1 stop of digital gain. ;)

Who says that a writer only has his own subjectively defined needs in mind when he posts an article? Experienced users, aka experts, often are able to give consultations to other users who often...

Yeah, I should have used the word "simplified" one line earlier. And the moment I used the word "loud" I knew it would fall back on me. But explaining the finer complexities is better left to you...

Same as in audio: 6.02 dB (rounded) = double as loud, which often is rounded down even more to 6 dB
And simplified: 1 bit = 6(.02) dB, so 12 bit = 72 dB maximum...

Some lovely photos and model. I am not so sure about all the backgrounds. The brown in some mixes well with the jacket, but I don't like all of them. The last one is gorgeous, though, with the blue...

Well, fact is that too many people buy stuff that's hopelessly over-sized and over-prized for their needs and skills, and more often hinders a better outcome than supporting it due to complexity....

Thank you. It really was more of a practice and see what the lens can do try. I am not used to shooting landscapes and it shows (like thinking about focusing somewhere in between instead of the far...

Good to know that my copy is a better one. Also keep in mind that I used strong "Detail" sharpening (which I like because it doesn't create visible halos). ;-)
At first I pondered whether to...

Hi Luego, I may have to revisit the Tone controls for both, but given the circumstances the results seem quite usable. Especially if you consider how people turn down the 12-50 as a bad lens.
I...

Just a quick post for those who'd like to know what a 12-50 looks like at its wide to normal range under less than ideal settings. Mine seems to be somewhat weaker on the right side. Of course,...

As long as I (and even Paul) get better results using "inferior" Adobe Lightroom than you do get with "superior" Silkypix I do not see the point of putting down the Adobe software as "improper"....

We still don't know whether the difference is due to camera/sensor differences or due to operation/development differences. All your past demonstration images have shown that you (handheld) focus...

Same color work-flow, same contrast, same saturation. All shot with in RAW, all shot to same focal point and setting according to Trevor G. Two of these are X20, one is X10.
At this point you may...
