zsozs: OMG !!!!! dpreview.com !! You cant take a foto ????
What are you doing ???
Shutter speed !!! Shutter speed !! Look !
No body use the Shutter speed 1/10 in real life !
The test ist not good ,if you use higher shutter speed have much NOISE in low light (1/60,1/100) and its sure iso 3200 much noise you will see !
tiberiousgracchus: Wow these came out quick. Really impressed with ISO 12800. If you need i think it can be used. I dont think i will need such ISO but its definitely a step up from the 5D II. Me ? well im not pro so buying this is way out of my budget the younger brother is still my target. but will the prices settle down in a month or so..?
im not talking about real reductions just slight ones that will have a knock on effect on the 5D II :P no i cant afford this one either
Welcome to DP...troll

dkingentertainment: I have the 5d mark II and I use it mainly for videography. I'm really disappointed in the lack of upgrades from a video aspect. Especially with magic lantern adding features to the 5dmark II. I just can't seem to justify the upgrade. I honestly wanted the 5d mark III with all this hype of the launch date and surprises but I just don't see enough from a video aspect. I'm staying 5d mark II and If I see enough good reviews I will jump to the D800. My loyalty is going with the best product for it's worth. What do you video guys think?
''Of course both cameras have a host of features that can be compared. Nobody yet knows how the video form the two cameras will look. The 5D MkIII reads out every pixel from the sensor and from examples shown by Canon that factor, in conjunction with processing algorithms, has greatly reduced the intensity of Moire patterns which appear in the video images as a result of the required downsizing process (from the full sensor resolution to the 1920 × 1080 resolution of 1080HD video). I don’t know if the D800 reads out all 36.3MP for every video frame, but I suspect it doesn’t and that it samples pixels by a technique such as line skipping. Reports I’ve read seem to suggest that it does in fact skip lines, though I don’t know for sure. If so that could result in lower quality video (increased Moire patterning). However again, only actual side by side testing will tell the real story and that hasn’t yet been done by anyone.'' Bob Atkins
Digital Suicide: I'm getting Nokia 808
tears of laughter
Sdaniella: Seriously, i waited about 80 minutes just to see all the predictable goons come out (let's see how many?)
She has a point...try it
2100 $ body only if the new lens out of the equation. not bad at all
Looks Grand !
Mobile phone= Photos Music and Calling. This does it for me forget the apps.
did not see that one coming..sounds great !
stunning shot !! well done on that
sarkozy: G1X HDR-Video
seems a little underexposed..for the overcast conditions. I need to see more examples. Still loving this camera though
Does look very nice. Now G1X or GX1 ??
photonius: hmm, not enough buttons on this one. It should have a button for direct upload to facebook, and a direct print button. Then there should be styles buttons, i.e. BIF eagles, BIF cormorants, BIF hummingbirds, Zoo button, Whalewatching button, Candid (Paparazzi) button, etc. :-). Finally a small black sticker that can be put on the front lens, to demonstrate that dust on the front lens does not interfere with the image.
Im dying of laughter
Ryanide: Anyone know when this camera is scheduled to be released in stores? This will definitely be my travel camera along side my 5DMKII w/24L!
I hear by the end of the month to start of March. In the US that is.
A really decent piece of kit. Discrete and low profile for everyday shooting. Its well worth a look. Considering The whole system will const about the same as the 5D II B.O.hmm waiting for full review and images samples and by then may have some deals to be had.
David0X: Gosh - sometimes there is useful stuff posted in these comments, so I keep reading them. Then every now and then something like this happens. I continue to be surprised by the deluge of ill informed and lazy comments by fools.
Taking a little time to research will show:
1: the guys are both professionals. Their websites contain a lot of stuff that shows that if you care to look. They are both working pros who know what they're doing.
2: If you read Christian's blog you will see that these are just a couple of quick images posted from day 1 of a four day shoot. This is not a review, it's just some shared photos by a guy who got a camera early and is looking forward to sharing some images as he discovers a bit about the camera.
There are many sensible and useful comments along these lines posted below, but they become hard to find amongst the asinine bashing.
By the way, I have been many times to Quorn where the images were taken. The colours look pretty well captured to me.
Agree totally. It is a new system and to get the best out of these cameras will take a bit more time.Great pics btw. I think they wanted to get images out there asap.Im really tempted to go for it based on these samples.
