  • Thanks, Dave.  It is still early in the hiking season--plenty of time yet for you to get out there.
  • Rich, thanks for the tip.  These photos were shot in JPEG and RAW so I can give this a try.
  • The birds are beautiful--particularly the orioles with the orange. I am convinced that the white Mustang you were showing off last week should be repainted in the markings of the grosbeak or ...
  • Replied in Hot Ford
LOL--I would love to but for the fact that my current level of youth requires that I work.
  • It is an amazing shot.  The camera and I would wind up soaked if I tried something like that.  The lighting really makes the image unique.
  • Yes.  This portion of the road is closed between November and May.  There isn't a lot to graze on.  I believe the cattle are moved to lower elevations in the winter months. State Highway 4 is one ...
  • The skies look a bit over-process.  I have been through a few different approaches to these images each time I come up with these blues.
  • Replied in Hot Ford
LOL---I have seen the rerun of Highway Patrol.  I too young to remember when the show actually ran on TV.
  • Replied in Hot Ford
Is that Broderick Crawford educating a young patrolman on how to handle a patrol car?
  • Below are a few from our recent Ebbetts Pass Trip.  The first is a seasonal cattle ranch on State Highway 4, just outside Markleeville where the road goes single lane. A mountain view. Watch out ...
  • Replied in Beach Rocks
I really like the texture of the rocks--the beach looks pretty good right about now too.
  • A nice set, Dave.  The historic marker is chocked full of interesting information.  The image of the boat on the marker is a stark contrast to the boats in the harbor today.
  • Replied in Big Trees
The big ones are down in Sequoia National Park or over in Redwood (Rich's part of the world)
  • Replied in Big Trees
It is certainly worth the trip, Joe.  It is nice just to see the Big Trees.  It is so quiet in the forest.  There is are parents trying get their kids to remain silent--it is similar to visting a ...
  • Replied in Big Trees
You could indeed manage that.  Redwood used to be used for building picnic tables here in the US.  It is very durable and no so prone to warp.
  • Replied in Soft going...
The photos convey the feeling of dry, Dicky.  I guess winter will be setting in soon down your way.
  • Joe, That is nice a pano.  You have a lot going on it--the bridge, boat, skyline and water in mono.
  • That is a pretty good effort with your Sigma.  A beautiful blue sky.
  • A nice image that captures the colours of spring, the symmetry of the park, and some people enjoying, what is obviously a very beautiful day (nice blue sky)
  • Nice set.  I like the second shot best.  Both are a reminder of winter. Happily this sort of weather should be behind us for a while.
