If money isn't an issue, you could also get a 14mm/2.8 which would benefit both cameras. Or consider the Samayng version for cheap but being MF only it might not be suitable.
-
Also, if you bought a 24-70, you would cover the missing range from your 5D. But I don't think that was the question.
-
I do have a 10-22 and love it but it's equivalent to 16-35 so there isn't much to gain from it.
If you're into UWA lenses, I'd rather get the Tokina 11-16 so at least you gain from the f2.8...

The Canon 6D(N) without GPS and Wifi is already out, but only in certain country with particular regulation regarding these 2 technologies.

Not sure what you guys are talking about, I can trace pretty much every single star reflection in the water to it's origin star in the sky without too much effort. They are almost at the same...

Using it on 600D for bracketing, long exposures and timelapses and have been mostly pleased with it.
I often get frustrated when it's not doing what I'm trying to do or when function don't start or...

I've been looking for a program to know where the Milky Way is at the given place and time and tried Stellarium which works quite well. It would work too for what you need I believe.

I've made the move from T2i to 6D recently, and it's only my opinion, because that's the way I shoot (ie either wide or long, not much in between). What I would do is:
* Sell:
- T2i
- Canon 10-22

+1 for the rubber band. Always worked for me. Might not work if it's been badly bumped.

AEB values are wrong in the Specifications. It can shot 7 frames.

No, it uses contrast focussing like in Live View mode... well, it IS a Live View mode, but on your phone with touch screen capability. The number of settings on the phone seems limited though,...

Anyone knows if the 6D LCD screen (and also LCD Info screen) is the exact same size (height and length, not just 3") than other models like the 5D2 or 7D?I'd like to get a GGS one asap but noone...

Yes you can.Good to know about the Show AF button option as I couldn't figure out how to prefocus.I couldn't manage to connect the camera to my Mac though my home wifi netwrok though :(

I also have a generic battery that used to show the battery level in my 7D but doesn't in the 6D.

Magnetic filters?http://www.xumeadapters.com/(there might be other brands, not sure)

Hmm, no the Samyang 14mm has a fairly strong distortion on both crop and FF (about 5% while the Canon as 1.2% at most). If you're pretty keen on night and aurora photography AND going to move FF...

The Samyang is on par with the Canon wide open. Also, the Canon has very strong coma flare which makes the stars on the edges look aweful while the Samyang doesn't have this issue. I would go with...

The TSE 17mm is not under $1000.I suggest to look at the Samyang 14mm, cheap, excellent IQ but manual focus (usually not an issue). You can also look at the Tokina 16-28mm.

The Canon 24mm 1.4 does produce strong, noticeable coma flare (elongated stars). If you want to use it mainly for night photography and don't mind not having AF, I strongly suggest to look at the...
