Thomas Traub: NO, the site does not remenber my setting "black" because of safety-reasons my browser is adjusted to delete all cookies after shutdown of the programm. And I think most of the carefull users do this! So every time I start the browser (and it starts automaticly with the dpreview-site) I have the white screen ....... sorry, that's a no-go.

And I don't want to login every time, 95 % of the time I'm only watching the content, only in 5 % I login to write a comment or to post someting.

In German we have a word for this: "verschlimmbessern" - that means to make things worse by trying to improve them .......

sorry, white is unprofessional and it's bad for my eyes and pictures look completely differen with a white background. It has a reasonable reason that every photographer has his studio in black, every camera-man is dressed in black ......

http://www.dpreview.com/?theme=dark

Thank you for this - this solves the problem for those of us who delete cookies

Oh and I think your brand is tied to the dark look, I'd default to that if I were editor of DPR

Take a look at the video "The Ticket" partway down this blog.

That's as good in quality as anything that's ever been on my monitor.
