Agreed about the shining pixels which is why I usually do a quick MF Assist zoom to make sure it's sharp.

I shoot both RAW and JPEG and can use focus peaking in both formats on my NEX-7. I also customized my AF/MF toggle botton to activate focus assist (zoom) while shooting with my Canon nFD 50mm...
