Bruce Dunkle: I think the idea of reviewing digital pnone cameras is a good one. Let's
remember that this is a digital photography site. Phone cameras are
digital cameras, and we're going to see continuing advances from many
manufacturers. I don't own a digital phone, but am considering buying
one, and I'd likt to see lots more reviews like this one to help me in
making an intelligent buying decision. So keep 'em coming, DPR, and
I'll read them all.

@barney - It's OK to see a review of an iPhone and yes I've read the interviews and all the other press announcements of medium format, thank you for that. But in times where a used Hasselblad H3D body is cheaper than a new Nikon D4 and used Hassy lenses costs the same but are much better than new Nikons my interest moved to medium format (and not to iPhone).

"Agfa" in the "Cameras"-List, Nokia and iPhone Reviews. Hmm... a Hasselblad H or Leica S seem to be too lousy to be reviewed or at least minded in the "Latest announcements" list. Can't wait to see Barbie-, Ken- and Lego-Camera on these sites.

As I remembered "uncontrolled sensor blooming" is a CCD problem not CMOS. Dalsa talks about "CMOS generally has natural blooming immunity." So, why not comparing to Fujifilm X-S1 with the same sensor?

carsten böttcher: Big step from G12 but far away from aps-c. It shows massive image processing already at ISO100. Look at the neck of the greek's bust and switch raw/jpg. Funny structure in jpg. The heraldry on the bailey's neck appears totally flat. There's stepping in the center star. Lost of detail in hairs and feathers. Blown reds. There must be a big problem with the lens or the sensor (or the software). Like the idea of such a cam hope they can get it fixed.

Yep, same with RAW. RAW additionally shows massive CA. Seems to be a weak lens construction they can't get fixed without massive software correction.

"reflects new production efficiencies... will result in a substantial reduction in the camera’s market price..." or better said "massive price reduction because SD1 doesn't sell as expected" means someone's woken up to get the Foveon investment back. Hope the DPs will have better IQ than the horrible SD1.

Some nice ideas but thanks to Marc Newson it looks like a plastic toy.

VadymA: I could hardly find any difference between ISO 100 and 12800. Very impressive. One picture worth a thousand words indeed.

Seems noise free but massive lost of detail in fine texture from 1600 on. Look at the mouse's fur. But nonetheless it looks great for such a cam and much better than the 4/3 cams.
