The E-PL1 is a good, cheap camera, but it has no wheel controls which makes it hard to adjust quickly.   It's dated now, but if you can get one cheap it'll do the job.

It's quieter after the 1.5 update - it could be my fevered imagination but I don't think so. The original sound didn't bother me, so maybe I'm just not picky enough.
