As some other folks have suggested you might want to consider the issue of "full frame" and "crop" cameras.
In a full frame camera the sensor that records the image is the same size as an piece of...

American Robin (Turdus migratorius)
Orange underparts, slaty black head, white eye-ring. Nice image at that distance.
Probably carrying a beak full of worms for its babies.

There is no perfect bird lens but a 300 f/4.5 is not a bad place to...

Canon just slapping IS onto the 400 f/5.6. That would be sweet.

Get them to courier it to you!

Is there a 300 or 400mm lens available for that camera? The 80-200 will be great for close work but you will miss some shots without more reach.

At least you're not bitter.

Where was it taken? It looks like a European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) which has been introduced from its original range to many places around the world.

The first two images look good for a recently fledged Tufted Titmouse (the last one is definitely a TUTI). I think I can even make out the barest hint of a tuft on the second picture.
One clue it...

A 300mm f/4 is a good lens for bird photography. It is the glass that I started with and although I have moved to bigger telephotos I still have a lot of respect for that focal length.
The Canikon...

It is pretty dry where I live but when I travel to the tropics I take along silica packs to protect my equipment, especially the lens. A google search for "silica gel camera" will reveal a number...

Well, you can take a picture of a bird with a pin hole camera but if someone is interested in becoming a serious bird photographer then it is irresponsible to direct them anywhere else but Nikon or...
