Commented on Tamron gives SP 24-70mm F2.8 Di VC USD price and availability news story
IS adds weight and cost to the lens; Canon probably did not add it due to those factors. Tamron on the other hand needed something to one-up Canon (otherwise why buy Tamron)? Therefore they...

Replied in Slide Copying - CanoScan 9000F samples
The Canoscan 9000F can do upto 3200dpi realistically, it will give about 40 - 50mp images.

Seems like printing is still one of the weak areas of digital photography, at least printing in the home. I have yet to find a reasonable inkjet that won't clog on me after a year or two of service.

My thoughts exactly... maybe they're aiming for the grass roots first? The point and shooter before moving into higher end markets?

Commented on Lytro Light Field Camera first look with Ren Ng article
Strange camera shape, no user replaceable battery / memory, no local, offline processing, I think this first batch of Lytro cameras maybe a niche product? Cool technology, but sounds like the...

Replied in Many camera's suffer
I have a DSC-WX01 and it doesn't have this issue, nor are white balance issue that bad on my Canon T1i.

Replied in Compact camera for CEO?
Sony DSC-HX9V or the DSC-WX10 are pretty fool proof cameras. The HX9V is a good travel camera while the WX10 is easier to use.

Hello Everyone,
Has anyone had an issue with the HX9V's white balance? Indoors, the camera white balance seems to generally work, but quite often, the camera will abruptly shift towards...
