  • Replied in Venice in B&W
In this often photographed old city of Italy, the combination of  Venice and foggy weather can make for a magical recipe! In particular, I really like image # 2. Very nice  collection.
  • A nice collection you have here. My particular favourites would be 3, 4 and 5. The B&W is nicely rendered. Regards.
  • Home town as in Vilnius? Congrats again on the images.
  • Replied in Soft Bouquet
I like the crop and composition here. Also, the selective focus works nicely . Sometimes, it can be difficult to make a subject like this compelling but, IMO, you've done quite well with it.
  • Replied in Fissure
A simple composition that suprisingly (for me) works quite well. Well seen Vidau.

Well captured moment. I like  how the side light is giving texture to and emphasises the boy. Perhaps I'd preferred if he were slightly more off centre in the frame but it's no big deal. Well done.
  • I also agree these are excellent captures. In particular I like the shallow DOF you've  used to guide the viewers' eyes to your subjects. Were these taken in your home town? Well done.
  • Very nice set of images, Deepak. The second image struck me as the young girl sitting on the bouncy balloon/ball in the foreground  nearly has the exact same face as the lady sitting on the steps ...
  • Effective portrait that works for me. Strong face. I like the lghting and shadow and the fact that both eyes are receiving the light. The expression seems to capture some of his personality; a good ...
  • Great background story to the image Ken, I enjoyed reading it. That manager guy looks like he could be a mean so and so if crossed. "Duel in the Sun" sounds appropriate alright  :-) . BTW, the ...
  • I like the perspective you've gone with here. The front to back sharpness works well for me and leads in to an interesting captured moment. Maybe f11 might have worked as well as f22 for the DOF ...
  • Really like this one. Your B&W rendering here is brave and effective. Well done.
  • Fair enough comment, if you like the image and it does it for you, I can respect that. It just kinda jarred with me with the people going upward at an almost vertical angle.... Having said that, I ...
  • An interesting collection of images. The perspective of the first image of the people in the escalator jars somewhat with me, in that I kept turning my head sideways to view it. Looks like it could ...
  • Yes, agreed, it doesn't really bode well going forward.
  • Thanks for this useful info, Andrew. Strange, in a way, why Google would now offer this very decent collection for free. However, it's a very welcome move and as they say : never look a gift horse ...
  • Replied in NT
Nice tight minimalist composition. The graphic aspect is compelling. Very nice light hitting the nest of tables and lamp; lighting is everything with an image such as this and lifts an otherwise ...
  • The second image is probably my favourite of the three; the composition and tonality especially is nicely rendered. But all three images are reasonably good monochrome captures. Your conversion ...
  • Pleasant portrait that captures the joyful moment well. The light hitting the boy is really nice. Is that natural, window light? He looks due for a haircut soon. :-)
  • Very good composition and light. The image was made for B&W. Well done.
