In 2009, I bought Nikon D700. And it "lasted" for 3 years. The end of last Dec I bought X-pro 1. I am glad that I am not the "shopper" only . I am a shooter because it's my hobby. :)

May I ask when you ordered ? Thanks

Best -- 70-200 VR2, beautiful image quality, sharpness, excellent bokeh,
Best -- 24-70, very versatile, very good image quality, the other lenses I have are 50 1.4G, 85 1.8G, they are the best,...

Wow, even X100 could blow away D700 by the IQ ! I thought X100 could just be close to D700. Could you show me some pictures, thanks. If X100 is that good, I would like to just get X100, to save...

For the one "No resolution gain", there is another way of seeing it.The DPR on ISO performance, they always 100% crop. One day I was comparing NEX-5N with Nikon D3200 on ISO performance, I...

So, all you lusted came true ? I owned a D700 too, and I am seriously thinking of buying xp1. Thanks for your post.

Thanks, too bad there are no local stores carrying it, that's why I kept asking questions. Maybe I should rent one and try it.

Thanks, my daughter is 7 years old, she could stay still more than 2 seconds, I guess.

I agree, D700 and XP1 totally different cameras, so I just want to know, XP1 could compete with D700 in bokeh, sharpness, contrast, dynamic range ? Thanks.
-
Thanks. After I thought it over, if you carry XP1, 35, and 60, they are almost equivalent to D700, 50 1.4G, 85 1.8G. The difference in weight is big, but the difference in size is not much. Am I...

Thanks for your info. You are waiting for your D800E ? And you already have D700, XP1, and ,,,.., WOW ! So, if you were me, should I spend the $3000 on XP1(plus 35, 60 lenses) or D800E ? I am kind...

Thanks. So according to your experience below, XP1 is sharper. And you said the color is comparable between these 2, I thought color is the main reason people buying XP1 ?How about bokeh comparison...
-
"the XP1 is less problematic" --- could you explain more on this ? Thanks. So,you meant at ISO 25600, D700's performance is not as good as XP1 ? How about from 3200-12800 ? Thanks.
Beside the ISO,...

I have D700, 24-70, 70-200VR2, 50 1.4G, 85 1.8G. I mainly take pictures on portraits, and events, for my daughter, school and family events. I enjoy the image quality of D700, its accurate...

Yes, it's very good. The blur wall is kind of separating the people or objects from the time,... ( because it blurred the present background, seems like the camera taking the people out of the...

85 1.4d is a very good, but it's over my budget now. Maybe later.

Yes, I like it. It's pretty, the object was separated from the background. That's what I like. Thanks for your effort and time. I appreciate your work.
